Our Position on "Indigenous Land Claims" Under Ecclesiastical Law: Pillar One.

We love people of all kinds, creeds, faiths, sizes, ages, and colors.  We love the diversity and creativity of mankind. We love the power of each individual to become kinder, wiser, and more spiritually aware. And this is why we believe that humanity has a chance of fulfilling its destiny in spite of being deceived and dumbed down and distracted by Evil. 

We were each blessed with the ability to discern Evil, so let us discern Evil now. 

The Bible, the ultimate source of Ecclesiastical Law in the western world, tells us at the very beginning, in the Book of Genesis, that there are really only two kinds of people and two groups contending for the ownership of the Earth: the sons and daughters of Satan and the sons and daughters of Eve.  

What happened to Adam?  When faced with his sin, he refused to admit it and take his punishment.  He blamed his wife, instead.  So he was bypassed as irrelevant.  He lost his job.  He was too weak to stand the most basic test.

By confessing and accepting her punishment, which included taking care of Adam like a handicap burden on her back, Eve stayed in the running to regain the ownership and possession of planet Earth, through her children.  

The essence of this contest and the nature of the enmity between the children of Eve and the children of Satan is spelled out in the Book of Genesis for all to see, handed down through innumerable generations, freely stated to all mankind.  

By my count, this is the eighth time that we have stood on the precipice of self-destruction.  Each time the result is the same:  

In a flash of fear and bad-temper, people choose to destroy each other instead of loving each other.  They destroy the civilizations they have labored to build, they destroy the Earth, and they destroy each other, both good and evil alike. 

And then the "remnant" is left to rebuild. And the story begins all over again.  

It doesn't matter if the result is brought about by war or by the hand of God, the slate is wiped -- pretty much -- clean, and we begin again, similar to what happens when we are reincarnated and given another life to live.  

It may have not been pointed out to you, but yes, the Bible affirms reincarnation and it is an official tenet of the Roman Catholic Church, even if they never mention it to Joe Q. Parishioner. 

We have been "here" before, and the Bible affirms that this is true, so there is no point in going through all the pain and destruction and rebuilding again--- especially when all possible questions have been answered and the contest between Satan's spawn and Eve's children has been decided.   

Eve's children won. 

This was decided at Golgotha more than three thousand (not two thousand) years ago.  Of course, being the Liars that they are, Satan's children have pretended that this definitive throw down never happened.  They've even claimed that they made it all up, but their lies don't change anything. 

Eve's children won the bet, and as a result, the custodianship -- that is, the ownership of the planet, belongs to them.  

Since then, Satan's progeny have struggled desperately to overturn this decisive victory by Yeshuah (that's Joshua in English) and tried every possible narrative to do it. 

They have even infiltrated the Church and ascended the hierarchy of its leadership, all in an attempt to win back control of the Earth.  They've redefined and relabeled and omitted and obfuscated and created all sorts of narratives, and at the end of the day, the fact remains that they lost the contest.  

Their Father bet the farm against Joshua and lost. 

So, the situation and issue we actually face now is the expulsion of Satan and his brood.  

They don't want to go, and are kicking and screaming and scheming to avoid that fate---- and the Bible is conveniently silent on the details of how and when, exactly, their deportation is to take place. 

The Revelation of John of Patmos describes all sorts of unrest and various degrees of destruction, as indeed, Joshua himself described: earthquakes, famines, floods, wars, interference by the Great Abomination standing in a place where it ought not to be (like New York Harbor), and tribulations of all kinds, as the children of Satan try to lie their way out of this situation and resist being removed from the Earth.  

Thus we set the framework in Ecclesiastical Law and establish the context.  There are no "indigenous" versus "non-indigenous" people here in this country or anywhere else. That's just another divisive lie and false distinction being promoted by the Liars. The only contest and only two groups are the children of Satan versus the children of Eve.  

And that contest has already been decided.  

Eve's children won. Satan's children lost. 

End of story and here comes the mop up.

Public International Order to Cease and Desist

Our sovereign nation-states as referenced in Federal Code 28 USC 297(b) are organic entities and separate countries.   They each hold general jurisdiction over all air, land, and sea jurisdictions associated with them.

We, Americans living in these nation-states, take their nationality from their nation-state and its instrumentality in international jurisdiction, which is their State of the Union (1776).  Each American is thus considered a Wisconsinite. Or a New Yorker.  Or a Minnesotan. Or a native of one of the other fifty (50) now formally enrolled and physically defined States of the Union.  

We are born as nationals of The United States.  We are not born as a Federal U.S. Citizen or citizen of the United States, and misrepresentations of us as such obtained by undisclosed processes of registration by undeclared foreign agents cannot serve to alienate us from our birthright political status.  

Mischaracterization of our native political status is a crime of state subject to capital punishment under international law, and is prohibited under both the Hague and Geneva Conventions.    

We, Americans, don't live in a democracy.  

We, Americans, don't live in a theocracy. 

We are not natives of the District of Columbia nor are we naturally subject to any military or municipal district artificially constructed by any foreign democracy or theocracy as an unauthorized usurpation upon our sovereign nation-states and impinging on our Territory, using such excuses as "wars" against drugs and poverty, emergencies, or self-interested and undisclosed registrations of our property, all the way up to claims of material ownership interest in our children and physical bodies and souls. 

These reprehensible and unsupportable acts of unlawful conversion, redefinition, labeling, and dehumanization serving to profit foreign interests that in fact owe us good faith and service, are crimes of state and crimes in commerce and crimes at sea that are well-recognized as crimes throughout the world.  

We are not employees nor dependents of any foreign municipal corporation; we don't stand under any Federal Constitutions. 

Our nation-states and we individually stand under the Unanimous Declaration of Independence and claim the Peace Treaties and Contracts owed to us ever since The War of Independence. 

We are not subject to salvage claims nor in need of salvage; we do not generally entertain any contracts in Special Admiralty or Maritime Commerce and no such contracts can be presumed to exist until proven in open evidence in a court of Public Law.  

If we choose to act as citizens of our nation-states, we do so as state nationals and are still known to be state nationals; and if we choose to serve our state in international jurisdiction as a State Citizen, we are still known to be State Nationals of Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, et alia.  

Only foreign corporations and their employees and dependents stand under the Federal Constitutions. 

Only such employees and dependents stand under the associated State of State franchise Constitutions, too.  

We are not to be confused with our public employees. 

We are the population of the General Public of each nation-state and of the Union of nation-states and of the Federation of Nation-States formed under our mutual powers agreements, and operating in national and international jurisdictions respectively.  

Any Americans choosing to stand as United States Citizens under the provisions of the Second Naturalization Act and United States Statutes at Large do so as willing foreigners in the service of the States of America and its Federal Republic Subcontractor in receipt of The Constitution for the united States of America.  

However, the States of America Confederation and the Federal Republic in receipt of The Constitution for the united States of America have been dormant since April of 1861 and are uninhabited and vacated at this time, so that any delegation of authority vested in these entities prior to 1861 has long-since returned by Operation of Law to the unincorporated Federation of States that conferred the delegated powers in the first place. 

Thus, any "misunderstanding" occasioned by the absence of the United States Citizens referenced in the Second Naturalization Act, and the absence of the Federal Republic delegations operating as the United States in Congress Assembled,  and any associated claims that our nation-states are "absent" or "in interregnum" or any suppositions that our assets and lands are abandoned and subject to salvage by any party at all, are also mistaken.  

Any misrepresentations otherwise are hereby summarily returned to the senders; our Federation of States again in receipt of the delegated powers that were extended to the Federal Republic, is enabled to do the work itself, to renegotiate service contracts, or hire new service providers for our nation-states.  

We are not under any obligations or debts to the contrary established by persons operating without granted authority and promoting themselves as Executors de Son Tort, including U.S. President Jimmy Carter.  

Anyone who labors under any other set of assumptions and who ignorantly supposes that we, the Preferred Creditors of all these corporations, are employees or dependents of these corporations, is cordially invited to demonstrate their validated and fully disclosed contractual agreements. 

They are otherwise invited to withdraw all False Claims in Commerce, Admiralty, and Maritime, to Cease and Desist False Claims on Abandonment, to Cease and Desist efforts to impersonate us in the manner of a Credit Card Hacker so as to deprive us of our Good Name, our estates, and our other intellectual and material interests, and to Cease and Desist all attempts to ignore the presence, provenance, and general jurisdiction of our nation-states for unlawful purposes of coercion, theft, and unjust enrichment of incorporated entities.

Our various addresses established in numerous jurisdictions and all based upon our General Post Office have been published here and abroad for many years and updated with our Subcontractors and others every ten (10) years.  

Our Head of State and our Fiduciary have both signed the 2010 Postal Treaty of the Americas and have provided contact information for our Government to the other Principals and Heads of State.  There has never ceased to be a Post Master as well as numerous Postmasters serving our nation-states and their unincorporated Federation States. 

Whereupon we Order that all federal employees, federal franchise employees, and employees of corporations registered under federal auspices and federally-controlled state-of-state organizations to: Cease and Desist all legal suppositions, presumptions, and assumptions promoting the idea that our American Government stands vacated, in need of salvage, or is granting any special undefined custodial roles, or any emergency powers to our Federal Subcontractors allowing them to represent us in any matter not expressly delegated specifically to them.  

We do not authorize them to say one word about our health, public, private, or theoretical.  We do not authorize them to dump chemicals in our water or upon our land.  We do not authorize our employees to promote, condone, or authorize war profiteering or war-for-profit, or war for any reason other than the direct defense of this country and its people. Except for some known and limited treaty considerations for our Allies and humanitarian aid which may be extended to them in time of need, there are no exceptions to our defense policies and contracts.   

Despite sea treaties invoked by the United Nations, Inc., lack of authorization is lack of authorization. We did not create the structures and duties and obligations of the Federal Constitutions as a mere guide to our Employees.  It is our objective meaning and intention that they are to be guided in every move and in all venues by their constitutional obligations and limitations.  

At no point in our history did we ever establish a Probate Court or agree to the establishment of a public interest in private property predicated on probate procedures.  Nor have we granted authority to any employee or subcontractor to establish private courts for the prosecution of public trusts established under such a scheme of probate abuse. 

At no time have we agreed to stand good for whatsoever debts our profligate foreign subcontractors have accrued for themselves; our Federal Constitutions make it clear that the Constitutions themselves represent the Supreme Law to be followed by our foreign subcontractors and those service contracts do not allow for any creeping and stealthy expansion of Federal Power or Federal Services or any similar federally franchised State-of-State powers or services, via a process of assumption and assumed accommodation while our State Governments have not been in Session.  

We are not responsible for the debts and abuses of our Federal Subcontractors; we have claimed their debts as debts owed to us as their Primary, Priority, and Preferential Creditors.  This means that instead of them being enabled to pass the costs of their numerous bankruptcies off to us, as "presumed" Secondaries,  they have to pay back all the money and assets they have purloined from us and/or yield to our receivership claims via liquidation or forfeiture of their corporation assets and franchises for our benefit. 

As disruptive and unpleasant as this prospect may at first appear to be, it opens up a whole new world of betterment for mankind and peace upon the Earth, for the devils responsible will no longer be enabled to use our own strength against us, and pick our pockets for their salaries and benefits at the same time that they are defrauding, misrepresenting, and bilking us.  

These dishonorable men and institutions have caused much destruction and suffering and have inflicted it without care upon the innocent among us, and they have done this in our names.  

Whereupon comes this solemn Order to Cease and Desist, issued to all Federal Government Employees and Dependents worldwide, including the employees and dependents of commercial and municipal corporations who have registered their businesses under the various parent corporations sponsored by these organizations.  

All of these corporations including the named members of the World Economic Forum and the UN CORPORATION are foreclosed.  Their parent corporations are all bankrupt and not eligible for bankruptcy protection at public expense.  

Similarly, their practice of these criminal corporations of killing their Priority Creditors so as to not have to pay their debts and to instead claim all the "abandoned property" of the dead for use as collateral --- which also accesses their own debt owed to the dead victims of these crimes of state and crimes against humanity --- and then charge the survivors for their "services" has to be rear-ended by the banks that are also responsible and accountable to us for allowing these criminally inclined corporations to access our credit and engage in these atrocities in our names.  

We call upon all banks at all levels to Cease and Desist providing these criminal corporations with any means to profit themselves or engage in unlawful activities that damage humanity and damage the Earth.  Cease and Desist extending our credit to any incorporated entity that does not honor all requirements of our Federal Constitutions or which fails to use these resources appropriately and according to the limitations of these same venerable contracts. 

Defense according to our definitions (Bouvier's Law Dictionary) does not mean offense.  Truth does not mean lies.  And salvage on dry land is not allowed. We call that "inland piracy".  

These are basics of our American Law and Justice and they have been present, standing on the books for all to see for the past hundred and sixty years, yet have been so far evaded, mischaracterized, distorted, left unenforced, and undermined by for-profit corporations that have also flaunted the Ecclesiastical Law that allows them to exist, that children selling lemonade on street corners for pennies have been misrepresented as commercial corporations, arrested, and harassed by corporate personnel committing crimes under color of law. 

This madness and all its works and ways must end. 

Those organizations that have profited themselves via lies and impersonation and fraud  and violence including genocide on paper and in fact ---via the attempted legalization of piracy and undisclosed processes dehumanization ---  it must all be brought to a swift and certain end.  

Cease and desist all support, all succor, all assistance to any incorporated foreign Federal Government entity or personnel caught engaging in any form of harm or wrong-doing whatsoever. These activities individually and severally are all grounds for the liquidation and forfeiture of all assets of these corporations for the benefit of their Priority and Preferential Creditors --- the living people of this planet. 

These Orders to all Federal Government Personnel are issued by the living progeny of the State Citizens who are the American Principals and Parties to the Federal Constitutions and who are of lawful provenance and standing to enforce these venerable Federal Constitutions without exception, and who also have standing to enforce the Postal Treaties and to issue asset-backed actual money currencies as well as being the actual owners of all credit created from the basis of their assets.   

All Federal Government Personnel employed by foreign corporations, or established as public employees working for Federal Franchises operated as States-of-States or STATES, or registered as commercial or municipal franchise organizations or operated as banks or courts by these foreign parent corporations seated in the District of Columbia are all operating outside their granted boundaries and authorities.  

These above-referenced entities and personnel are all operating within constructed legal fictions known as Military Districts, which were created without authority by the British Territorial Rump Congress in violation of the Supreme Law of the Land and without a valid Egress Treaty with our Principals, and they must Cease and Desist their unlawful activities immediately or stand foreclosed without any privilege to re-incorporate or assign their assets. 

All Federal Government Personnel operating off-shore are similarly responsible for immediately examining their activities in light of the Constitutions which provide the basis for their existence as institutions and as corporations and as individual "persons". 

All Federal Government Personnel and franchise personnel are summoned and requested and required to Cease and Desist all so-called extra-constitutional activities, including all repugnant private commercial claims resulting from the expenditure of Federal Government resources. 

Individuals employed by public institutions including Universities, hospitals, agencies and laboratories who have been allowed to patent and individually profit from discoveries made while working for our public institutions and corporations and who have had improper profit motives to create and weaponize their inventions to harm the public whose purse supported them and their institutions, are criminals no matter what opinions their own incorporated "supreme court" might have.  

The politicization of science and the lies told to the public concerning global warming, scalar technology, oil reserves, cancer, and other topics, is a form of virulent criminal institutionalized fraud carried out under color of law.  

The opportunity afforded the criminals to patent criminal technologies and profit from them is a travesty unknown to civilization prior to this; this includes all commercial claims promoted by DARPA asserting that living people who have ingested patented mRNA without the benefit of full disclosure are rendered Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and labelled (by DARPA) as "Transhumans" and thereby not owed basic Human Rights is a criminal assertion and process for which all those responsible must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Public Law. 

The depth of the treason against law, country, and reason displayed by these so-called scientists and military and corporate officers is beyond any description and the only motive for these gross lies and murders appears to be a trivial profit motive based on individual and institutional greed.   

All Federal Government, franchise government, agency, and corporate personnel are hereby warned and ordered to Cease and Desist

Specifically, officers and employees of the FDA, NIH, CDC, AMA, FEMA, ALPHABET, INC., Alphabet, Inc., University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, Fort Detrick, Glaxo-Smith-Klein, Inc. and Successors, Mindbox, Inc., MINDBOX,  Black Rock, Inc. and Successors however named and styled, Pfizer, Inc., Moderna, Inc., Johnson and Johnson, Inc., Astrazeneca, Inc.,  the Soros Foundation, Clinton Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UN CORP, United Nations, Inc., WHO, INC., World Health Organization, Inc., FRANCISCUS, estate of ELIZABETH II,  CBS, ABC, NBC, Reuters, BBC, IRS,INC., Internal Revenue Service, Inc.,  and associated and affiliated corporations, agencies, banks, and persons responsible for committing and covering up acts of genocide, war for profit, mercenary operations, misuse of our Patent Office to allow criminal patents, SERCO, which has been instrumental in this mismanagement of our Patent Office, and individuals too numerous to individually address in this Public International Order to Cease and Desist are hereby given Fair Warning and are Ordered to Cease and Desist whether on land or at sea or in the air.  

All Americans born in one of our nation-states will be held 100% commercially and individually liable for criminal and immoral behavior resulting in harm to the Earth and harm to other living people, regardless of whatever legislated protections they and their corporations, managers, governors and directors may have attempted to provide for their illegal, unlawful, and immoral acts and claims seeking unjust enrichment and coercive power.  

Our Courts of General Jurisdiction are reopening and our Constitutional Contracts and Guarantees are being enforced, quite apart from any individual discretion.  Our contracts are not optional for government contractors. 

This is the last time that we shall issue such a warning or provide our public employees with such an explicit and detailed description of the wrongs they are committing, and the consequences thereof. 

This is the last time we shall provide Federal Personnel and Agents with Orders to Cease and Desist which may be relied upon in international court to excuse them from obeying any criminal orders issued to them by corporate, agency, institutional or departmental managers. 

Despite explicit warnings given to organizations and individuals engaged in promoting war profiteering, poisoning the environment, selling "snake oil" vaccines, lying to the public about scientific topics for profit, committing acts of industrial espionage, acts of weather warfare disguised as technology tests, deployment of scalar weapons tests on domestic populations, undisclosed chemical and genetic tests on domestic populations, and similar crimes advanced under color of law --- rogue agencies and departments, corporate interests and individuals have continued their rampages against the Public Interest. 

Full, explicit, continuous Due Process has been waged and executed since 2005; the major priority liens have been established and cured.  The means to expedite charges is in place. 

Cease and Desist all improper, immoral, unlawful, and illegal activities --- immediately.

International Public Notice: Sloppy Language Kills

For the first four years --- nearly five --- of our country's political existence, the Federation of States handled all external international and global business.  

Then, in 1781, but still during The War of Independence, the Continental Congress delegated the responsibility of commercial business management to the Confederation.  

The Federation of States was left in control of International Trade and the new Confederation doing business as "the States of America" took over commercial (incorporated) business affairs.  

Here is the junction where sloppy language becomes a big problem.  

The Federation is made up of the member States -- the physically defined States of the Union we always think of.  

The Confederation was made up of member "States of States" which are businesses under contract to the States to provide government services.  

Over time, people began calling these "States of States" ---like the State of Maine--- first "Confederate States" and finally, just plain "States".  

This sloppiness blurred the line between the actual physically defined States and the associated States-of-State because people were referring to both using the same word: "State". 

This leads to profound misunderstandings. 

We can naturally mistake what kind of "State" we are referring to in documents and conversations, if we start referring to the State of California (one of the Confederate States) as "California" (one of the Federation States).  

In our research we discovered that this lapse of language occurred extensively in the years leading up to the Civil War, so much so that it was difficult to distinguish the context of numerous documents. 

Initially, we thought that the Federation required State Electors to be "white landowners above the age of 21" -- but in fact, it was the Confederation that had this requirement.  

Our Federation of physically-defined States only requires that Electors be free, that is, not in a condition of slavery or indentured servitude, and have attained the age of majority.  Every eligible Elector is considered to be a "landowner" as all free men and women are in possession of their body: "dust thou art and to dust returneth".  Members of the Federation Congress must be at least 35 years of age and our President must have attained the age of 45 years.  

Thus, there are no racial or land ownership requirements to be a Federation official, officer, or Elector. Federation and State Assembly Justices, Jurors and Court Officers can be any color or creed. Our last Federation President was a black man, the Grandson of George Washington's Aide-de-Camp.  

It was this same confusion that led so many Americans and people worldwide to mistake the nature of the so-called American Civil War, too, which was commonly called "the War between the States" to promote the idea that the actual States were the combatants in this illegal Mercenary Conflict.

We have substantively proven that this conflict was between the States-of-States and not the actual States, by a process of positive evidence and a process of negative averment, affirming the same conclusions.

In terms of positive evidence, all the Muster Rolls and Induction paperwork is related to business entities.  Unknowingly, soldiers in the Civil War and ever since, have been signing up to serve as mercenaries serving corporations, not bodies politic.  They were never given full disclosure of this fact.   

In 1863, Lincoln bankrupted "the United States of America" (Incorporated), and thus, also, the franchises thereof--- the Northern States-of-States; we know from this circumstance that the combatants were corporations. 

Actual States have State Immunity and are not eligible for public bankruptcy protection. 

We also deduce the illegal and commercial nature of the conflict from the following facts: 

1. No Congress ever issued a Declaration of War; 

2. No formal peace process or Peace Treaty ending the Civil War was ever recorded -- only a form of Armistice resulting from Lee's Surrender at Appomattox; 

3. President Andrew Johnson declared "peace on the land" via three public proclamations, but these verbal contracts with the civilian population were immediately dishonored by the British Territorial Congress Lincoln used to conduct business in the "absence" of the American Confederation Delegations. They set up military districts to extend the power of the District of Columbia government into the States of the Union in breach of trust and service contract.  These "carpetbagger courts" created in May of 1865 have remained in operation ever since; 

4. The Reconstruction (that is, bankruptcy Reorganization) required was outlined by the Territorial Congress as the Reconstruction Acts, nearly all of which remain on the books and in effect to this day; 

5.  Successive Territorial and Municipal Congresses have operated under pretense of "emergency" and "war", following a practice of declaring "war" on something every two years -- Cold War, War on Poverty, War on Drugs, etc., to maintain an excuse for pernicious British Territorial occupation of this country.  

6. The members of the Federation Government ---which was owed the return of all delegated powers of the Confederation the moment the Confederation failed  --- were attacked by Lincoln's thugs, burned out of their homes, falsely accused of crimes, murdered, ambushed, slandered, and forced to flee to other countries and to the far frontiers of the Northwest Territories; 

7. Thus, an American Raj was established by foreign corporations, most especially, the British Crown, and the Municipal Government of Rome, and the horrors inflicted by this new brand of Colonial Feudalism have reflected the same oppressions, lies, omissions, and abuses that Mahatma Gandhi exposed in India a hundred years ago; 

8. Now we and all the still-occupied (since WWII) countries of Western Europe and the former British Commonwealth are being threatened by the same corporations in the form of the WEF -- a Municipal Corporation styling itself as "the World Economic Forum" and the UN CORP another Municipal Corporation styling itself as "the United Nations Corporation".  

9. These heinous monsters follow the banner of "national socialism" --- and have forgotten who really owns their corporations and under which law their corporations are created and allowed to endure. 

They have admitted that we, the General Public of this country and our lawful government, own their corporations via their frequent and repeated abuse of public bankruptcy protection. 

We are the Principals and Priority Creditors owed all substance and control of these corporations and we have invoked their prosecution for unlawful activity under the Ecclesiastical Law that created them.  

There can be no doubt that every member corporation in the "World Economic Forum" and every corporation purporting to represent other countries in the "United Nations" enfranchisement scheme, is the literal property of our government or another lawful European or former Commonwealth government which has been illegally and immorally occupied by military services that depend upon us both for their personnel and their funding. 

Whereupon we call upon every American, every European, every African, every Japanese, every Indian --- all people worldwide who have been robbed, oppressed, defrauded, and violently attacked by this gang of Liars and Thieves and Murderers, to stand up against Satanism and all that it has promoted via the abuse of Legal Fiction Persons and Phoenician (Phony) Courts to create a form of Corporate Feudalism more damning than the Feudalism of the Middle Ages.  

We are the Employers, the Owners, and the Principals.  

The CEOs and Generals and Admirals and Presidents and Boards of Directors and Boards of Governors running these delusional corporations are merely professional middlemen who have failed to perform their duties owed to us by law and contract. 

Like any employees who defraud and harm their employers, they need to be replaced and their positions need to be defunded.  

The offending corporations need to be liquidated or forfeited to our (meaning the impacted lawful governments) direct control under new management --  not limited to:  all the enfranchised members of the UN CORP, and the various iterations of US CONGRESS, United States Congress, Inc., SERCO, Senior Executive Services, Inc., ALPHABET, INC., Alphabet, Inc., MINDBOX, INC., Mindbox, Inc., MICROSOFT, INC., Microsoft, Inc., DARPA, INC.,  Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Inc.

The Church's Year

At the Introit of the Mass the Church prays for the peace which God has promised by His prophets:

INTROIT Give peace, O Lord, to them that patiently wait for thee, that thy prophets may be found faithful: hear the prayers of thy servant, and of thy people Israel. (Ecclus. XXXVI. 18.) I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: we shall go into the house of the Lord. (Ps. CXXI. 1.) Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

COLLECT O Lord, inasmuch as without Thee we are not able to please Thee, let Thy merciful pity rule and direct our hearts, we beseech Thee. Through our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the Unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end, Amen.

EPISTLE (I Cor. I. 4-8.) Brethren, I give thanks to my God always for you, for the grace of God that is given you in Christ Jesus, that in all things you are made rich in him, in all utterance and in all knowledge: as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that nothing is wanting to you in any grace, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ who also will confirm you into the end without crime, in the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

EXPLANATION St. Paul shows in this epistle that he possesses true love for his neighbor, because he rejoices and thanks God that he enriched the Corinthians with different graces and gifts, thus confirming the testimony of Christ in them, so that they could without fear expect His arrival for judgment. - Do thou also rejoice, with St. Paul, for the graces given to thy neighbor, for this is a mark of true charity.

GOSPEL (Matt. IX. 1-8.) At that time, Jesus entering into a boat, passed over the water, and came into his own city. And behold, they brought to him one sick of the palsy lying in a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith, said to the man sick of the palsy: Be of good heart, son; thy sins are forgiven thee. And behold, some of the Scribes said within themselves: He blasphemeth. And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts? whether it is easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the man sick of the palsy): Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house. And he arose, and went into his house. And the multitude seeing it feared, and glorified God who had given such power to men.

EXPLANATIONS

I. Those who brought this sick man to Christ, give us a touching example of how we should take care of the sick and help them according to our ability. Christ was so well pleased with their faith and charity, that He cured the man sick of the palsy, and forgave him his sins. Hence we learn how we might assist many who are diseased in their soul, if we would lead them to God by confiding prayer, by urgent admonitions, or by good example.

II. Christ did not heal the man sick of the palsy until He had forgiven him his sins, by this He wished to teach us, that sins are often the cause of sicknesses and other evils, by which we are visited, and which God would remove from us if we were truly repentant. This doctrine Jesus confirmed, when He said to the man, who had been sick for thirty-eight years: Sin no more, lest some worse thing happen to thee. (John V. 14.) Would that this were considered by those who so often impetuously demand of God to be freed from their evils, but do not intend to free themselves from their sins, which are the cause of these evils, by a sincere repentance.

III. "He blasphemeth." Thus thought the Jews, in their perverted hearts, of Christ, because they believed that He in remitting the sins of the sick man, usurped the rights of God and thus did Him a great injury; for it is blasphemy to think, say, or do any thing insulting to God or His saints. But these Jews did not consider that they by their rash judgment calumniated God, since they blasphemed Christ who by healing the sick man, and by numerous other works had clearly proved His God-head. If Christ so severely reprimanded the Jews, who would not recognize Him as God, for a blasphemous thought against Him, what will He do with those Christians who, though they wish to be adorers of God and His Son, nevertheless, utter blasphemies, curses, and profanations of the holy Sacraments?

IV. When Jesus saw their thoughts, He said: Why do you think evil in your hearts? This may be taken to heart by those who think that thoughts are free from scrutiny, and who never think to confess their evil and shameful thoughts. God; the most Holy and most just, will, nevertheless, not leave a voluntary unchaste, proud, angry, revengeful, envious thought unpunished, any more than an idle word. (Matt, XII. 36.) The best remedy against evil thoughts would be the recollection that God who searches the heart sees them, and will punish them.

PRAYER How great, O Jesus! is Thy love and mercy towards poor sinners, since Thou not only forgavest the sins of the man sick of palsy, but calling him son, didst console and heal him! This Thy love encourages me to beg of Thee the grace, that we may rise from our bed of sins by true penance, amend our life, and through the ways of Thy commandments enter the house of eternal happiness.

INSTRUCTION ON INDULGENCES

Be of good heart, son, thy sins are forgiven thee. (Matt. IX. 2.)

The same that Christ says to the man sick of the palsy, the priest says to every contrite sinner in the confessional, and thus remits the crime or the guilt of his sins, and the eternal punishment, by virtue of the authority given him by God. But since sins not only bring with them guilt and eternal punishment, but also temporal¹ and indeed spiritual or supernatural punishment, such as, painful conditions of the soul, as well in this world as in purgatory, and natural ones, as: poverty, disease, all sorts of adversities and accidents, we should endeavor to liberate ourselves from them by means of indulgences.

What is an indulgence?

It is a total or partial remission of the temporal punishment which man would have to suffer either in this or the next life, after the sins have been remitted.

How do we know that after the remission of the sins there still remains temporal punishment?

From holy Scripture; for our first parents after the forgiveness of their sin, were still afflicted with temporal punishment. (Gen. III.) God likewise forgave the sins of the children of Israel, who murmured so often against Him in the desert, but not their punishment, for He excluded them from the Promised Land, and caused them to die in the desert. (Num. XIV.) Moses and Aaron experienced the same, on account of a slight want of confidence in God. (Num. XX. 12., Deut. XXXII. 51. 52.) David, indeed, received pardon from God through the Prophet Nathan for adultery and murder, (II Kings XII.) still he had to endure heavy temporal punishment. Finally, faith teaches us, that we are tortured in purgatory for our sins, until we have paid the last farthing. (Matt. V. 26.)

Did the Church always agree with this doctrine of Scripture?

Yes; for she always taught, that by the Sacrament of Penance the guilt and eternal punishment, due to sin, are indeed forgiven for the sake of the infinite merits of Jesus, but that temporal punishment still remains, for which the sinner must do penance. Even in the earliest ages she imposed great penances upon sinners for their sins which were already forgiven. For instance, murder or adultery was punished by a penance of twenty years; perjury, eleven; fornication, denial of faith or fortune-telling, by seven years of severe penance with fasting, etc. During this time it was not allowed to travel, except on foot, to be present at the holy Sacrifice of the Mass, or to receive the holy Eucharist. If the penitents showed a great zeal for penance and sincere amendment, or if distinguished members of the Church, particularly martyrs, interceded for them, the bishops granted them an indulgence, that is, they remitted the remaining punishment either totally or partially. In our days, on account of the weakness of the faithful, the Church is lenient. Besides the ecclesiastical, the spiritual punishments which would have to be suffered either here or in purgatory for the taking away of sins, are shortened and mitigated by indulgences through he treasure of the communion of saints.

Has the Church the power to remit temporal punishments, or to grant indulgences?

The Council of Trent expressly states, that the Church has power to grant indulgences, (Sess. 25.) and this statement it supports by the words of Christ. For as Christ protests: Amen, I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven; so He also promised, that whatever the Church looses upon earth, is ratified and loosed in heaven. Whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven. (Matt. XVIII. 18.) Even an apostle granted an indulgence. In the person and by the power of Christ, that his spirit might be saved in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ, (II Cor. II. 10.; I Cor. V. 4. 5.) St. Paul forgave the incestuous Corinthian, upon whom he had imposed a heavy punishment.

What is meant by saying, indulgences are granted out of the treasury of the saints or of the Church?

By this is meant that God, by the Church, remits the temporal punishment due to sin for the sake of the merits of Christ and the saints, and supplies, as it were, by these merits what is still wanting in our satisfaction.

What kinds of indulgences are there?

Two; plenary and partial indulgences. A plenary indulgence, if rightly gained, remits all ecclesiastical and temporal punishment, which we would otherwise have to expiate by penance. A partial indulgence, however, remits only so many days or years of the temporal punishment, as, according to the penitential code of the primitive ages of the Church; the sinner would have been obliged to spend in severe penance. Hence the name forty day's indulgence, etc.

What is a Jubilee?²

It is a plenary indulgence, which the pope grants to the faithful of the entire world, whereby all the temporal punishments of sin, even in cases reserved to the pope or the bishops, are remitted, and forgiven in the name of God, if the sinner confesses contritely and receives the holy Eucharist and has a firm purpose of doing penance.

What is required to gain an indulgence?

First, that we should be in the state of grace, and have already obtained, by true repentance, forgiveness of those sins, the temporal punishment of which is to be remitted by the indulgence; and secondly, that we should exactly perform the good works prescribed for the gaining of the indulgence.

Do indulgences free us from performing works of penance?

By no means: for there are few in the proper state to receive a plenary indulgence in its fulness, since not only purity of soul is necessary but also the inclination to sin must be rooted out, it therefore cannot be the intention of the Church to free us from all works of penance by granting us indulgences. She cannot act contrary to the word of Jesus: Unless you do penance, you shall all likewise perish. Luke XIII. 3.) She rather wishes to assist our weakness, to supply our inability to do the required penance, and to contribute what is wanting in our penance, by applying the satisfaction of Christ and the saints to us by indulgences. If we, therefore, do not wish to do penance for our own sins, we shall have no part in the merits of others by indulgences.

Can indulgences be gained for the souls of the faithful departed?

Yes, by way of suffrage, so far as we comply with the required conditions, and thus beg of God, for the merits of His Son and the saints, to release the souls in purgatory. Whether God receive this petition or not, remains with Him, He will act only according to the condition of the deceased. We must, therefore, not depend upon the indulgences and good works which may be performed for us after death, but rather endeavor, during our life-time, to secure our salvation by leading a pious life; by our own good works and by the gaining of indulgences.

What follows from the doctrine of the Church concerning indulgences?

That an indulgence is no grant or license to commit sin, as the enemies of the Church falsely assert; that an indulgence grants no forgiveness of sins past or future, much less is permission given to commit sin; that no Catholic can believe that by gaming indulgences he is released from penance, or other good works, free from the fight with his evil inclinations, passions and habits, from compensating for injuries, repairing scandals, from retrieving neglected good, and glorifying God by works and sufferings; but that indulgences give nothing else than partial or total remission of temporal punishment; that they remind us of our weakness and lukewarmness which is great when compared with the zeal and fervor of the early Christians; that they impel us to satisfy the justice of God according to our ability. Finally, they remind us to thank God continually that He gave the Church a means in the inexhaustible treasure of the merits of Christ and His saints, to help our weakness and to supply what is wanting in our penance.

2. The word jubilee signifies deliverance, remittance. With the Jews every fiftieth year was so called, and all the prisoners and slaves were to be set free in this year, according to the command of God, the inheritances which had been sold, restored to their masters, the debts cancelled, and the earth left untilled. This was a year of grace and rest for the Jews. This Jubilee of the Jews is a figure of the Catholic jubilee, in which the captives of sin and Satan are liberated, the debt of sin remitted, and the inheritance of heaven, which the sinner had sold to Satan, is restored to him.
