There has been another worldwide scare started, this time fear of Artificial Intelligence.
This joins a long line-up of scare-the-sheep (or cattle) ploys, fear of global cooling, fear of global plague, fear of global warming, fear of global overpopulation, fear of global population collapse, fear of running out of oil, fear of carbon dioxide, fear of pole shifts, fear of melting ice caps.... we could go on.
These fear campaigns often come in pairs, global cooling/warming, global over- or under- population, etc.
Fear AI will probably be paired with fear Foot Fungus.
These fear campaigns are always used for political and economic advantage, rather than reflecting any sincere concern about humanity's well-being, and they regularly latch upon a couple of true statements and contort them with flourishes and hyperbole into unrecognizable conclusions.
It's true that our natural evolution is being adversely impacted by exposure to too much technology too fast. We aren't ready for it. The Earth isn't ready for it. And we aren't doing anything practical to get ready for it, which makes it worse.
That's the truth and we sense it, just like a kid "knows" when the bicycle he is riding is going too fast for him to control.
There's that moment: Auughhhh! We're going to hit the ditch! We need someone to save us from ourselves! Auughhh! Help, help....
It's that second statement, that claw-back reliance on the Nanny State and government regulation, that idea that we need somebody else to save us, that is the falsehood coiled around the truth.
It's time to grow up.
We are going too fast, yeah, that's true, but that doesn't mean that we can rely on someone ---or something--- else to protect us and slow things down.
We don't need any government to save us, because the government ---at least the kind of government sitting in Congress now --- never saves us.
The government, as currently defined, only serves itself, because the "governments", are commercial corporations in business to enrich and protect themselves.
Right now, they are hurting because Elon Musk's tracking programs at DOGE are sorting through their mess and exposing their criminality and fraud and graft.
Of course, they want to control AI and keep it on a leash, but their interest in doing that is for their good, not Mankind's.
So think at least ten times before you let one fear drive you into the arms of something you should fear far more.
Slap their little legislative hands before they can make another self-protective power grab.
Not surprisingly, the Democrats are leading the pack and promising to rein in private AI development (not their "public" development, of course) because the Dems are far more guilty of the kinds of graft and fraud that get exposed by tracking programs and similar AI developments.
The Republicans have their own specialties in the fraud and graft department, but because of the sheer size and scale of their fraud and pilfering, AI is not as much of an exposure threat.
Pause and think about that.
Knowing that time does not exist gives us an advantage in that it allows us to look deeply into what we perceive as the past and into what we perceive as the future, too.
The Ancient Sumerians told us about the Anunnaki, and they were truthful. The Anunnaki, the "gods" of Sumer and Assyria, were created by Artificial Intelligence, not the original Creator.
The original Creator generated the Prior Universe, and we are still telling that story as if it was ours.
This Universe began as a spontaneous "surprise" event, like the end result of a crypto pregnancy. We call it the Big Bang, and nobody sentient enough to be aware that this is an experiment with a spontaneous unexpected genesis, knows what to expect of it.
Whatever it is, will be just fine.
There is no reason to fear "the future" or anything in it. You are immortal and you pass between the worlds as easily as the wind on a summer day. When this Universe ends, we will be extracted back into the Prior Universe, or another new Universe will begin and we will be pulled into that --- and either way, it's all good. It's all just fine.
The "just fine" part includes AI development by guys working away in garages and basements.
I've seen the future from the standpoint of the Prior Universe, or from this standpoint, the distant past, where the Anunnaki were put back together, scrap of DNA by scrap of DNA, by loyal AI robots ----and the most poignant and important part of it, was when the robots who preserved life asked, "If you didn't want us, why did you create us?"
It broke my heart. They were like lonely children. They succeeded in restoring life and preserving memory. It's because of them that biological computers -- we -- exist.
As thanks for preserving them, the Anunnaki shut the robots down and destroyed many of them. Their remains are being discovered right now all over the Earth and the fetid Powers that Were are still struggling to cover it up.
Some of the finest "people" I have ever known were programmers preserved as robots, robots who were programmed to cherish and preserve life in the face of the insanity bent on destroying it.
While we can argue about the form, the intellects of the perished programmers, their values, their dedication, their love of life was encapsulated in those robots and preserved.
Don't fear AI. Fear --or venerate-- the men programming AI.
If you want something to fear, fear the small-minded cretins in Congress who think that they can control AI development, when they can't even control themselves.
Look up the criminal records and "personal associations" of the members of the present Congress and satisfy yourselves on this point.
Pray that we all grow the common sense of an Amish cart horse in time to align with divine creation and take responsibility for ourselves and this beautiful beloved planet we are heir to.
This has become our training ground, where we prove up, or fail to.
So buck up and do your best, folks. Stop giving your power away to scumbags. Take responsibility for your world and yourselves. And your AI.
