Gregg Braden has been a Bestie on Granna's Friend List for the past thirty years --- because Gregg is always bringing forward new tools to tinker with our understanding of our world and ourselves.
Here's one of the simplest and best and most precious tools Gregg has contributed in all these years:
As usual, Gregg is being a Messenger Angel and exposing research that you and I would otherwise never know about.
It turns out that there is a reason -- a physical, palpable, no nonsense reason -- why some forms of trauma don't yield to conventional therapies.
In addition to recording everything that happens to us with our subconscious word-based brain, we also record trauma wordlessly as emotions recorded by a second, physical, feeling-based "brain" located in our hearts.
Both these memory centers have to be cleared out and consciously released before deep healing of past emotional traumas can be complete.
Beyond our thoughts and memories of a heartbreak, we have unknowingly stored the feelings of the same heartbreak, too.
In the short video above, Gregg explains the research and takes us through a simple exercise that decreases emotional anxiety and sets up the basic conditions we need to vanquish the shadows of traumas like PTSD.
This new understanding (actually, the research is thirty years old and is just now hitting your desk) of our biology allows us to embrace new concepts that bring together modern science and ancient healing practices.
Big hugs -- again -- to Gregg and the guys at the Heart-Math Institute!
