ReplyDeleteGreat observe, @Fred. For me, the struggle has often involved working against the irritation I feel for the fact that there is so much that the average American just hasn't thought about. I don't want to call my fellow man dumb, but damnit, it sometimes feels that way. Then, in a more lucid moment it dawns on me that I am being something of a hypocrite. Not everyone had the State rip their lives away and throw them in a cage for a decade, so not everyone has had the time or the impetus to do the necessary thinking, reading, and self discovery. What I saw as just another abuse in a lifetime (literally) of abuse now appears to have been "Tribulation Training- Special Forces." It was a gift, though it was intended as a curse. #GiantKillersOfAmerica So, while I expect that others ought to recognize why I am the way I am about certain things, i.e. the shit I saw and lived thru, and not expect me to fit in the nice little boxes that were drawn and picked for us, I fail to recognize that not everyone has had a singular purpose of "how the hell did this actually happen," and "What the hell am I going to do about it?" driving them on for 35 years. For as long as I can remember I've been reading about things that I thought had clues as to how we got here. I remember picking out a book about Charlamegne when I was in 4th grade and everyone was like, wtf? Why would you pick that book of all books? Simple. I knew a little about the story, I liked the name, and it sounds like he was one of the first to kick a bunch of ass in the name of YHWH. Not everyone had that experience. A lot of people had "stuff" and they got busy taking care of their stuff and getting new stuff. All I ever had was ideas and dreams. We have to be more patient with one another.

DeleteI like the idea of Presidential designation as "incorporated" or some other form of identification such as color-coding, blue for Law of the Sea and yellow or red for a defunct corporation. And yes, many of us have suffered through "Tribulation Training".
