Beginning in late 2001, I began recommending that my readers buy gold. I have continued to make this recommendation every year since then. When I first made it, gold was selling for under $300 per ounce. Today, it is above $1,200 per ounce.
I wonder what percentage of my readers have taken my advice and put a minimum of $10,000 in gold coins. I would like to think 80%. I hope it is at least 4%.
Some people have bought IOU's to gold issued by some firm that promises to pay investors fiat currencies. The payment will be made in digital money, not gold.
The commodity futures market is a system of IOUs. Overall, about 1% of these contracts result in actual delivery of physical commodities. Gold is no different. People who buy IOUs to gold are buying promises to pay fiat money, not gold. Read the contract. See if the company is allowed to substitute fiat money for gold.
There are a few thousand local coin companies in the United States. Most of them deal mainly in stamps and baseball cards, not gold bullion coins. Collectors are their main clients. There are usually people with interests in specific coins, not gold coins as such.
The few American companies that specialize in selling bullion gold coins have a few thousand clients each. This, in a nation of 100 million households.
In a crisis so severe that (say) 10% of these households decide to buy a single one-ounce gold coin, there is no way that they will be able to do this. There will not be enough telephone lines and salesmen to take their orders. There are not enough salesmen to take orders from a million homes.
In other words, there is no way that a gold coin standard could come into existence fast enough to solve the problems created by mass inflation, let alone hyperinflation. When the crisis hits, it will be too late.
There would be no way for the United States Mint to produce enough gold coins to meet demand. Whenever there is a big move in gold's price, the Mint stops delivery of coins to dealers. The Mint says that it does not have enough blanks to produce enough coins to meet demand. This is marginal demand, not a million people trying to buy one coin.
The Mint has no incentive to buy new presses and new blanks -- planchets -- for the coins. The Mint does not pay its employees a commission for coin sales. Most people's jobs there are protected by Civil Service. What if demand is short-term? What happens then to the career of some senior officer who ordered the new presses? In contrast, nothing negative will happen to anyone's career for not buying new equipment.
Think of Europe, Australia, and the Chinese middle class. What if 10% of them wanted to buy just a single one-ounce coin? The same problem exists in every nation. There is no distribution channel large enough to handle what I would call marginal demand. Such demand is marginal in terms of the net worth of buyers. It is marginal in terms of the number of investors in all asset classes. But it is not marginal in terms of the number of new buyers of gold coins. It would short-circuit the distribution system.
I am a believer in owning gold coins. That is to say, I do not trust the IOUs except as speculative vehicles to make fiat money. These IOU's are not IOU's for gold. They are IOU's for digital money. There are vastly more IOU's written for gold than there is gold ready to deliver: probably 100 times more. Here, I am speaking of gold bullion bars. As for bullion gold coins, there might as well be none, as far as the average guy would be concerned in a currency crisis.
If an outfit has a bonded warehouse with segregated gold accounts, fine. But will the firm deliver physical gold? Find out.
This is why procrastination is unwise. The person who procrastinates thinks, "I can always buy some coins." He will not be able to. He thinks, "I can beat the rush." He can't. He will get the urge to buy gold when millions of other people do, too. The panic will hit far more people than there are coins available.
Anyone who knows the gold coin market can tell you this. I have watched it since 1965. I see the same retail sellers today as then . . . and not many more.
Camino Coins in Burlingame, California has been around since about 1960. Investment Rarities in Minneapolis began in the early 1970's, as did Monex. Franklin Sanders (the Moneychanger) began in 1980. Don McAlvany has been selling coins for over 30 years. Then who are the new kids on the block? There aren't many. Of those who sell coins and deliver them, there aren't any. (I am not speaking of companies that say they buy coins and store them for a fee.)
This is a cottage industry. It's not like Wall Street, where hedge funds come and go. This is what we would call a mature industry. "Geriatric" is closer to it.
If there were widespread interest in buying gold coins, there would by now be a developed supply chain. As gold has risen from $257 in 2000 to today's price, companies would have come into existence to meet demand. There has been no increased demand. Gold goes higher and higher. People read about it, but they do not take action.
An American waits to buy gold until his brother-in-law buys gold. Few people are early buyers in any market. But, in the case of gold, almost no one ever becomes an early buyer. To buy gold is to short the dollar. To buy gold is to conclude that Congress will eventually ruin the currency. This means that the promises of Congress are not reliable. Very few Americans can bring themselves to believe this. So, they remain on the sidelines.
NO EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
The amazing fact is that tens of millions of Americans know about gold. They have seen the price rise, and they have sat on the sidelines. They have not connected the rising price of gold with a profit opportunity. They have not thought, "I really ought to get in on this." Higher and higher gold's price goes, but emotionally, this fact does not register.
This is equally true in Great Britain. A decade ago, as Great Britain was selling half of its gold hoard at under $300, gold got a lot of attention. It was the end for gold in the world's monetary system, the experts said. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, issued the order to sell. This was big financial news. Brown's decision has cost the Bank of England something in the range of $10 billion, but nobody in Great Britain has cared. The issue is not on anyone's radar screen, despite the fact that the British electorate goes to the polls this week to decide Brown's political future. His recorded comment about some woman's supposed bigotry has cost him millions of votes. But his liquidation of half of the nation's gold is a non-starter, and has been for a decade.
Here is a unique situation. An investment asset keeps rising, but investors pay no attention.
What is the problem? There is a war on gold, and the government and central banks are behind it. They tell people that gold is a loser's investment, that there is no shortage of gold at yesterday's price, that gold will soon fall. Worst of all, it doesn't pay interest -- rather like excess reserves at the Federal Reserve these days. But that has not kept commercial banks from piling up $1.2 trillion of excess reserves.
People do not mentally connect their lives with gold's price. If they had bought gold in 2000, they would be buying more today. Why? Because they would understand that gold's price is important for their future. But they did not buy gold in 2000, so its price is a kind of curiosity for most people. People do not invest in curiosities.
In India, gold is not a curiosity. It is an integral part of the culture. Gold jewelry serves as a dowry gift. Fathers begin saving money to buy their daughters gold from the time the daughters are born. This makes the price of gold a topic of intense personal interest in India. The price of gold impacts millions of families' net worth. It does so far more than the price of stocks impacts American families' net worth.
An Indian in a village may not be literate, but he knows about gold. He may not have any idea how the futures market works, but he knows how the gold market works. He does not accept an IOU for gold as a substitute for gold. He does not provide his daughter with an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) certificate for gold on her wedding day. He could not be fooled into thinking that an ETF in gold is the same as gold. He would regard such an assumption as ludicrous -- something that Americans might believe in, but not anyone with common sense. What is common sense in India? "He gets my money when I get the gold."
The poor villager did not attend Harvard Business School. He does not work for Goldman Sachs. He imagines that businessmen might write IOU's for gold when they don't own any gold. Then they might take the money obtained from the IOU and use it to buy something else. When presented with the IOU, the debtor might plead poverty. He might declare bankruptcy. He might disappear. He might pull a Lehman Brothers routine. The villager, not being a sophisticated man, is not taken in by Harvard Business School grads, with their computer models.
So, the villager is protected by centuries of tradition. He learned from his father what stupid people do with their money. His wife still has her dowry, unless the family had to sell it in an emergency. There is no FDIC in India. There is no line of fiat money credit to India's non-existent FDIC from Congress. The Indian understands that a dowry in gold, not an IOU from a bank, is reliable in good times and bad.
The Indian has an emotional commitment to gold. So did his father. So did his grandfather. The American does not.
The American trusts the promises of the Federal government. He is emotionally committed to the Federal government. He is convinced that a political promise from Congress is better than gold. He believes in his heart of hearts that the Federal government would never break its word. Social Security will be there in his old age. So will Medicare.
The Indian peasant has no comparable faith in civil government. He has seen it in action for too long. He does not trust the Indian currency. The currency is useful for buying gold.
An Indian father makes his purchases when he can. He pays attention to price. He may think, "I will buy gold when the price falls." Then he does exactly that. The American thinks, "I will buy gold when the price falls." He thinks this again and again. He never buys any gold.
THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT
The Tea Party movement is not yet serious. How do I know this? Because most of the members of the Tea Party movement refuse to buy gold coins. How do I know this? Because I can call a coin store and get through. I can order coins. If the Tea Party people were buying coins, the coins would sell for a big premium over the bullion price.
Anyone who says he is a member of the Tea Party movement who does not have at least a one-ounce gold coin is not serious about the threat of Congress to his future. He believes that Congress will come to its senses. He believes that politics will roll back Federal spending. But the killer Federal expenditures are Medicare and Social Security. They, all by themselves, will bankrupt the U.S. government. The Tea Party movement has not demanded the abolition of Medicare and Social Security. Thus, it is still living in fantasy land, deficit-wise.
Tea Party members think their efforts will be successful in rolling back government spending, yet Medicare and Social Security are sacred cows, to use a concept imported from India. Tea Party members are supposedly at least 10% of the voting population, with another 15% sympathetic to it.
Until these people finally realize that Congress will not change, that the Federal deficit will escalate, that this Federal debt will absorb more of the nation's capital, they will not call a coin dealer and order gold or silver coins.
They have faith in the political system. But the size of the deficit testifies against such faith. Until these people face reality and buy some coins, they will remain sheep to be sheared.
They will wake up at some point. When they do, they will try to contact a coin dealer. Unless it is a local dealer that makes its money selling baseball cards, they will get busy signals.
The Mint will declare a holiday. The coin premiums above spot (billion) price will go to 30% or higher.
There is no way that every member of the Tea Party movement can buy just one one-ounce gold coin.
The coins are not there.
In a panic run-up of the gold coin premium, existing holders will be buying more. They will call a dealer. The dealer will get back to them . . . maybe. Who do you think a dealer will call back? A new buyer who may only want one coin, or an old client who is ready to buy 10 coins, 20 coins, or more?
The newcomers will want in, and they will not be able to get in. What effect will this have? Mania.
It's when people are told, "You cannot buy" that they get frantic.For as long as they can buy, they don't buy.
Then, when they are told they cannot buy, they will pay anything. That is when you do not want to buy. Only you will.
You must prepare yourself for this. The only self- defense strategy I know of is to buy when you can and sit tight (or even sell) when you can't buy.
CONCLUSION
I am preaching to the choir. What I have found over the years is that the choir pays less attention to the sermon than the walk-in does.
The walk-in has a reason for walking in. He has a problem he is grappling with. He wants a solution. He walks in to hear if the pastor has a solution.
The choir has heard it all. "Nothing new here!" The choir is content. Things are going great for the choir.
Then disaster hits. The choir thinks, "I had better go to the pastor to talk about my problem." At that point, there are no openings. People have to schedule an appointment.
Being in the choir lets people find out about problems. It does not usually lead them to begin to solve these problems. "I've heard that before" is the great producer of procrastination, until the day the crisis hits. Then it is the great motivator. "I knew! I knew!"
Too late . . . at 2% above spot price, anyway.

What applies to Gold is even more true of Silver. The ratio of silver to gold was 16-1 for decades. 16 ounces of silver would buy 1 ounce of gold. Right now the ratio is over 60 to 1. That is right, you can walk into Coins and Carats in Kalispell Montana and buy about 60 ounces of silver with one ounce of gold.
I know that because I did it not too long ago. It might even be more right now. There is less than 10% of silver above ground right now compared to gold. Gold gets saved, silver gets used in industrial uses. It gets used up.
Silver always lags behing gold at the beginning of a currency crisis, then always outperforms gold as a percentage of increase. In 1971, when Richard Nixon took America off the gold standard (Bretton Woods agreement) Gold started to increase and during the next 9 years gained 24 times it's value in terms of American dollars. But during the same time period, silver gained over 39 times it's value.
Silver is the poor man's gold. In a currency crises, when gold goes to thousands of dollars per ounce, who is going to be able to make change for one ounce of gold? We have even made silver rounds that are divisible into quarter ounce pieces, like the old pieces of eight. Ours are two bit pieces, or quarters of an ounce just for the purpose of barter when it happens. See the website below.
At today's price of gold, this morning at $1214.00 per ounce, and at the normal ratio of silver to gold at 16/1 silver should be selling for about $75 per ounce. Your next question will be, "why isn't it?" and the reason is the fraud and huge manipulation in the silver market. Big banks are buying short contracts on silver to drive the price down because they know people watch the silver price and the one thing the big banks MUST prevent is a run on their banks to buy silver. Once that starts they will lose control and silver will equalize with gold to it's normal ratio. At that point people will be paying ridiculous prices for precious metals, and you should be selling NOT buying. That is what I will be doing.

Beginning in late 2001, I began recommending that my readers buy gold. I have continued to make this recommendation every year since then. When I first made it, gold was selling for under $300 per ounce. Today, it is above $1,200 per ounce.
I wonder what percentage of my readers have taken my advice and put a minimum of $10,000 in gold coins. I would like to think 80%. I hope it is at least 4%.
Some people have bought IOU's to gold issued by some firm that promises to pay investors fiat currencies. The payment will be made in digital money, not gold.
The commodity futures market is a system of IOUs. Overall, about 1% of these contracts result in actual delivery of physical commodities. Gold is no different. People who buy IOUs to gold are buying promises to pay fiat money, not gold. Read the contract. See if the company is allowed to substitute fiat money for gold.
There are a few thousand local coin companies in the United States. Most of them deal mainly in stamps and baseball cards, not gold bullion coins. Collectors are their main clients. There are usually people with interests in specific coins, not gold coins as such.
The few American companies that specialize in selling bullion gold coins have a few thousand clients each. This, in a nation of 100 million households.
In a crisis so severe that (say) 10% of these households decide to buy a single one-ounce gold coin, there is no way that they will be able to do this. There will not be enough telephone lines and salesmen to take their orders. There are not enough salesmen to take orders from a million homes.
In other words, there is no way that a gold coin standard could come into existence fast enough to solve the problems created by mass inflation, let alone hyperinflation. When the crisis hits, it will be too late.
There would be no way for the United States Mint to produce enough gold coins to meet demand. Whenever there is a big move in gold's price, the Mint stops delivery of coins to dealers. The Mint says that it does not have enough blanks to produce enough coins to meet demand. This is marginal demand, not a million people trying to buy one coin.
The Mint has no incentive to buy new presses and new blanks -- planchets -- for the coins. The Mint does not pay its employees a commission for coin sales. Most people's jobs there are protected by Civil Service. What if demand is short-term? What happens then to the career of some senior officer who ordered the new presses? In contrast, nothing negative will happen to anyone's career for not buying new equipment.
Think of Europe, Australia, and the Chinese middle class. What if 10% of them wanted to buy just a single one-ounce coin? The same problem exists in every nation. There is no distribution channel large enough to handle what I would call marginal demand. Such demand is marginal in terms of the net worth of buyers. It is marginal in terms of the number of investors in all asset classes. But it is not marginal in terms of the number of new buyers of gold coins. It would short-circuit the distribution system.
I am a believer in owning gold coins. That is to say, I do not trust the IOUs except as speculative vehicles to make fiat money. These IOU's are not IOU's for gold. They are IOU's for digital money. There are vastly more IOU's written for gold than there is gold ready to deliver: probably 100 times more. Here, I am speaking of gold bullion bars. As for bullion gold coins, there might as well be none, as far as the average guy would be concerned in a currency crisis.
If an outfit has a bonded warehouse with segregated gold accounts, fine. But will the firm deliver physical gold? Find out.
This is why procrastination is unwise. The person who procrastinates thinks, "I can always buy some coins." He will not be able to. He thinks, "I can beat the rush." He can't. He will get the urge to buy gold when millions of other people do, too. The panic will hit far more people than there are coins available.
Anyone who knows the gold coin market can tell you this. I have watched it since 1965. I see the same retail sellers today as then . . . and not many more.
Camino Coins in Burlingame, California has been around since about 1960. Investment Rarities in Minneapolis began in the early 1970's, as did Monex. Franklin Sanders (the Moneychanger) began in 1980. Don McAlvany has been selling coins for over 30 years. Then who are the new kids on the block? There aren't many. Of those who sell coins and deliver them, there aren't any. (I am not speaking of companies that say they buy coins and store them for a fee.)
This is a cottage industry. It's not like Wall Street, where hedge funds come and go. This is what we would call a mature industry. "Geriatric" is closer to it.
If there were widespread interest in buying gold coins, there would by now be a developed supply chain. As gold has risen from $257 in 2000 to today's price, companies would have come into existence to meet demand. There has been no increased demand. Gold goes higher and higher. People read about it, but they do not take action.
An American waits to buy gold until his brother-in-law buys gold. Few people are early buyers in any market. But, in the case of gold, almost no one ever becomes an early buyer. To buy gold is to short the dollar. To buy gold is to conclude that Congress will eventually ruin the currency. This means that the promises of Congress are not reliable. Very few Americans can bring themselves to believe this. So, they remain on the sidelines.
NO EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
The amazing fact is that tens of millions of Americans know about gold. They have seen the price rise, and they have sat on the sidelines. They have not connected the rising price of gold with a profit opportunity. They have not thought, "I really ought to get in on this." Higher and higher gold's price goes, but emotionally, this fact does not register.
This is equally true in Great Britain. A decade ago, as Great Britain was selling half of its gold hoard at under $300, gold got a lot of attention. It was the end for gold in the world's monetary system, the experts said. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, issued the order to sell. This was big financial news. Brown's decision has cost the Bank of England something in the range of $10 billion, but nobody in Great Britain has cared. The issue is not on anyone's radar screen, despite the fact that the British electorate goes to the polls this week to decide Brown's political future. His recorded comment about some woman's supposed bigotry has cost him millions of votes. But his liquidation of half of the nation's gold is a non-starter, and has been for a decade.
Here is a unique situation. An investment asset keeps rising, but investors pay no attention.
What is the problem? There is a war on gold, and the government and central banks are behind it. They tell people that gold is a loser's investment, that there is no shortage of gold at yesterday's price, that gold will soon fall. Worst of all, it doesn't pay interest -- rather like excess reserves at the Federal Reserve these days. But that has not kept commercial banks from piling up $1.2 trillion of excess reserves.
People do not mentally connect their lives with gold's price. If they had bought gold in 2000, they would be buying more today. Why? Because they would understand that gold's price is important for their future. But they did not buy gold in 2000, so its price is a kind of curiosity for most people. People do not invest in curiosities.
In India, gold is not a curiosity. It is an integral part of the culture. Gold jewelry serves as a dowry gift. Fathers begin saving money to buy their daughters gold from the time the daughters are born. This makes the price of gold a topic of intense personal interest in India. The price of gold impacts millions of families' net worth. It does so far more than the price of stocks impacts American families' net worth.
An Indian in a village may not be literate, but he knows about gold. He may not have any idea how the futures market works, but he knows how the gold market works. He does not accept an IOU for gold as a substitute for gold. He does not provide his daughter with an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) certificate for gold on her wedding day. He could not be fooled into thinking that an ETF in gold is the same as gold. He would regard such an assumption as ludicrous -- something that Americans might believe in, but not anyone with common sense. What is common sense in India? "He gets my money when I get the gold."
The poor villager did not attend Harvard Business School. He does not work for Goldman Sachs. He imagines that businessmen might write IOU's for gold when they don't own any gold. Then they might take the money obtained from the IOU and use it to buy something else. When presented with the IOU, the debtor might plead poverty. He might declare bankruptcy. He might disappear. He might pull a Lehman Brothers routine. The villager, not being a sophisticated man, is not taken in by Harvard Business School grads, with their computer models.
So, the villager is protected by centuries of tradition. He learned from his father what stupid people do with their money. His wife still has her dowry, unless the family had to sell it in an emergency. There is no FDIC in India. There is no line of fiat money credit to India's non-existent FDIC from Congress. The Indian understands that a dowry in gold, not an IOU from a bank, is reliable in good times and bad.
The Indian has an emotional commitment to gold. So did his father. So did his grandfather. The American does not.
The American trusts the promises of the Federal government. He is emotionally committed to the Federal government. He is convinced that a political promise from Congress is better than gold. He believes in his heart of hearts that the Federal government would never break its word. Social Security will be there in his old age. So will Medicare.
The Indian peasant has no comparable faith in civil government. He has seen it in action for too long. He does not trust the Indian currency. The currency is useful for buying gold.
An Indian father makes his purchases when he can. He pays attention to price. He may think, "I will buy gold when the price falls." Then he does exactly that. The American thinks, "I will buy gold when the price falls." He thinks this again and again. He never buys any gold.
THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT
The Tea Party movement is not yet serious. How do I know this? Because most of the members of the Tea Party movement refuse to buy gold coins. How do I know this? Because I can call a coin store and get through. I can order coins. If the Tea Party people were buying coins, the coins would sell for a big premium over the bullion price.
Anyone who says he is a member of the Tea Party movement who does not have at least a one-ounce gold coin is not serious about the threat of Congress to his future. He believes that Congress will come to its senses. He believes that politics will roll back Federal spending. But the killer Federal expenditures are Medicare and Social Security. They, all by themselves, will bankrupt the U.S. government. The Tea Party movement has not demanded the abolition of Medicare and Social Security. Thus, it is still living in fantasy land, deficit-wise.
Tea Party members think their efforts will be successful in rolling back government spending, yet Medicare and Social Security are sacred cows, to use a concept imported from India. Tea Party members are supposedly at least 10% of the voting population, with another 15% sympathetic to it.
Until these people finally realize that Congress will not change, that the Federal deficit will escalate, that this Federal debt will absorb more of the nation's capital, they will not call a coin dealer and order gold or silver coins.
They have faith in the political system. But the size of the deficit testifies against such faith. Until these people face reality and buy some coins, they will remain sheep to be sheared.
They will wake up at some point. When they do, they will try to contact a coin dealer. Unless it is a local dealer that makes its money selling baseball cards, they will get busy signals.
The Mint will declare a holiday. The coin premiums above spot (billion) price will go to 30% or higher.
There is no way that every member of the Tea Party movement can buy just one one-ounce gold coin.
The coins are not there.
In a panic run-up of the gold coin premium, existing holders will be buying more. They will call a dealer. The dealer will get back to them . . . maybe. Who do you think a dealer will call back? A new buyer who may only want one coin, or an old client who is ready to buy 10 coins, 20 coins, or more?
The newcomers will want in, and they will not be able to get in. What effect will this have? Mania.
It's when people are told, "You cannot buy" that they get frantic.For as long as they can buy, they don't buy.
Then, when they are told they cannot buy, they will pay anything. That is when you do not want to buy. Only you will.
You must prepare yourself for this. The only self- defense strategy I know of is to buy when you can and sit tight (or even sell) when you can't buy.
CONCLUSION
I am preaching to the choir. What I have found over the years is that the choir pays less attention to the sermon than the walk-in does.
The walk-in has a reason for walking in. He has a problem he is grappling with. He wants a solution. He walks in to hear if the pastor has a solution.
The choir has heard it all. "Nothing new here!" The choir is content. Things are going great for the choir.
Then disaster hits. The choir thinks, "I had better go to the pastor to talk about my problem." At that point, there are no openings. People have to schedule an appointment.
Being in the choir lets people find out about problems. It does not usually lead them to begin to solve these problems. "I've heard that before" is the great producer of procrastination, until the day the crisis hits. Then it is the great motivator. "I knew! I knew!"
Too late . . . at 2% above spot price, anyway.

What applies to Gold is even more true of Silver. The ratio of silver to gold was 16-1 for decades. 16 ounces of silver would buy 1 ounce of gold. Right now the ratio is over 60 to 1. That is right, you can walk into Coins and Carats in Kalispell Montana and buy about 60 ounces of silver with one ounce of gold.
I know that because I did it not too long ago. It might even be more right now. There is less than 10% of silver above ground right now compared to gold. Gold gets saved, silver gets used in industrial uses. It gets used up.
Silver always lags behing gold at the beginning of a currency crisis, then always outperforms gold as a percentage of increase. In 1971, when Richard Nixon took America off the gold standard (Bretton Woods agreement) Gold started to increase and during the next 9 years gained 24 times it's value in terms of American dollars. But during the same time period, silver gained over 39 times it's value.
Silver is the poor man's gold. In a currency crises, when gold goes to thousands of dollars per ounce, who is going to be able to make change for one ounce of gold? We have even made silver rounds that are divisible into quarter ounce pieces, like the old pieces of eight. Ours are two bit pieces, or quarters of an ounce just for the purpose of barter when it happens. See the website below.
At today's price of gold, this morning at $1214.00 per ounce, and at the normal ratio of silver to gold at 16/1 silver should be selling for about $75 per ounce. Your next question will be, "why isn't it?" and the reason is the fraud and huge manipulation in the silver market. Big banks are buying short contracts on silver to drive the price down because they know people watch the silver price and the one thing the big banks MUST prevent is a run on their banks to buy silver. Once that starts they will lose control and silver will equalize with gold to it's normal ratio. At that point people will be paying ridiculous prices for precious metals, and you should be selling NOT buying. That is what I will be doing.

The "War on Drugs," like the "War on Terror," ends up being an undertaking with no definable victory in sight. No matter how vigorously the federal government prosecutes its "war" on drugs, people will still use drugs. No matter how vigorously the federal government pursues the "war" on terror there will still be those who want to commit terrorist acts to get their points across.
Thus, we have two "wars" with infinite reach that use the threats engendered by their very own existence to justify their actions.
In the meantime, numerous lives are lost like so much "collateral" damage--a phrase that should be abhorred by anyone who wants to think and speak seriously about such things. I would wager that damage doesn't seem so collateral when it's your brother, or mother, or cousin, etc.

"I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he's led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.
In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? "Dreams of My Father" was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The "Audacity of Hope" followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a "communist with a small 'c'" was the real author.
His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley's formidable political machine at his disposal.
He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder, was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?
He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm.
A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.
And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984's Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.
The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.
Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.
Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to "wish away" some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .
The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign "world tour" were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.
Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party's hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.
Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an "obstreperous" Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted "Allahu Akbar." The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber "an isolated extremist" only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.
He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America . He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.
The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.
Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual's life.
When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.
We laugh at the ventriloquist's dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States of America ?"

A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.
And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984's Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.
The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.
Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.
Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to "wish away" some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .
The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign "world tour" were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.
Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party's hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.
Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an "obstreperous" Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted "Allahu Akbar." The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber "an isolated extremist" only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.
He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America . He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.
The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.
Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual's life.
When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.
We laugh at the ventriloquist's dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States of America ?"

By 2014, every American who volitionally elects not to buy health insurance will be forced to buy “qualified” private plans under Obamacare or suffer a tax penalty. Millions of Americans do not have health insurance of their own free will, not because they cannot afford it but because they choose not to expend their money on it. Their reasons are many. Some prefer alternative medicine that is not covered by health insurance. Others wish to place the thousands of dollars that would otherwise have to be spent on health insurance in savings or investments. Still others wish to devote that money for the acquisition of goods or services other than health insurance. In the end, this suit is about those Americans’ freedom of choice.
Can the government constitutionally compel an American citizen to spend his or her after tax dollars to purchase a single product, health insurance, against that citizen’s will? The plaintiffs in this suit contend that their liberty right under the Fifth Amendment, their right to privacy protected by the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Ninth Amendments, and their freedom of association protected by the First Amendment forbid that compulsion.

This Sunday and the whole week should serve as a preparation for the festival of Pentecost, that we may be enabled by good works and pious devotional exercises, to receive the gifts of the Holy Ghost. At the Introit the Church sings:
INTROIT
Hear, O Lord, my voice, with which I have cried to thee, allel. My heart bath said to thee: I have sought thy face, thy face, O Lord, I will seek: turn not away thy face from me, allel. allel. The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? (Ps. XXVI. 7-9.) Glory be to the Father, etc.
COLLECT Almighty, everlasting God, grant us ever to have a will devoted to Thee, and to serve Thy majesty with a sincere heart. Through .etc.
EPISTLE (1 Peter IV. 7-11.) Dearly beloved, be prudent, and watch in prayers. But before all things, have a constant mutual charity among yourselves; for charity covereth a multitude of sins. Using hospitality one towards another without murmuring: as every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the words of God: if any man minister, let him do it as of the power which God administereth; that in all things God may be honored through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
EXPLANATION The practice of the virtues which St. Peter here prescribes for the faithful, is an excellent preparation for the reception of the Holy Ghost, for nothing renders us more worthy of His visit than true love for our neighbor, the good use of God's gifts; and the faithful discharge of the duties of our state of life. Strive, therefore, to practise these virtues and thus make yourself less unworthy of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Say daily during the week the following prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, who bast assembled the people of all tongues in unity of faith, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy divine love.
GOSPEL (John XV. 26-27., to XVI. 1-4.) At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: When the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me: and you shall give testimony, because you are with me from the beginning. These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be scandalized. They put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whomsoever killeth you will think that he doth a service to God. Why is the Holy Ghost called the Paraclete?
Through the apostles and disciples whom He made so eloquent and so courageous that they intrepidly professed and preached Christ to be the Son of God, and the true Messiah. This doctrine He confirmed by astounding miracles, and sealed it by their blood which they shed in its defence The Holy Ghost still gives testimony of Christ through the Church, that is, the clergy, through whom He speaks, and who must, therefore, be listened to reverently. We must also give testimony of Christ and profess by our lives, by patience in crosses and afflictions that He is our Teacher, our Lord, and our God; for if we do not thus acknowledge' Him in this world He will deny us before His Father in heaven. (Matt X. 33.)
Did the Jews sin in persecuting and putting to death the apostles?
Undoubtedly; for although they erroneously believed they were doing God a service, their ignorance and error were very sinful and deserving of punishment, because they could easily have known and been instructed in the truth.
Those Christians who neglect all religious instruction hardly know what is necessary for salvation, and make light of many things which are grievous sins; as also those who are in doubt whether they justly or unjustly possess certain goods, and yet through fear of being compelled to make restitution, neglect to settle the doubts such are in culpable ignorance.
What must every Christian know and believe in order to be saved?
That there is but one God, who has created and governs all things; that God is a just judge, who rewards the good and punishes the wicked; that there are in the Deity three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; that the Son of God became man for love of us, taught us, and by His death on the cross redeemed us; that the Holy Ghost sanctifies us by His grace, without which we cannot become virtuous or be saved; that man's soul is immortal.
PETITION Send us, O Lord Jesus ! the Paraclete, that He may console and strengthen us in all our afflictions. Enlighten us by Thy Holy Spirit that we may learn and live in accordance with the truths of faith. Amen.

By speaking, doing or omittihg that which will be, to others an occasion, of sin: Scandal is given in different ways, for instance: if you dress improperly, speak improper words, or sing bad songs; by which you can see, that your neighbor will be tempted to think, desire or act wrongly; or what is worse, if you act sinfully, in the presence of, others, or bring bad books., books against good morals, or against the holy faith, among people; if you incite others to anger, cursing, and vengeance, or if you prevent them from attending church, the sermon, or catechetical instruction, etc. In all these things you become guilty of scandal, as well as of all the sins to which it gives rise.
If at the Last judgment we will be unable to, give an account of our own sins, how, then can we answer for the innumerable sins caused by, he scandal we have given? Therefore Christ pronounces a terrible, woe upon those who give scandal. Woe to that man, He says, by whom the scandal cometh! It were better for him, that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. (Matt. XVIII.)
How do parents give scandal?
By giving their children bad example; by excessive anger, cursing and swearing; by avarice, injustice and cheating; by discord and quarrels; by gluttony in eating and drinking; by extravagance and vanity in dress; by sneering at religion, good morals, etc.; by not keeping their children from evil company, but sometimes even bringing them into it; by not punishing and endeavoring to eradicate their children's vices. How much parents sin, through such scandals, cannot be expressed; at the Day of judgment their children will be their accusers!
How do masters give scandal to their servants and those under their care?
In the same way as parents do to their children; by keeping them away from, or not urging them by their own example or command to attend church on Sundays and holy-days; by giving them meat on fast-days; by commanding them to do sinful things, such as stealing, injuring others, etc.
INSTRUCTION ON PREPARATION FOR PENTECOST
1). We should withdraw, after the example ef the Blessed Virgin and the apostles, to some solitary place, or at least avoid, intercourse with others, as much as possible; speak but little, and apply ourselves to earnest and persevering prayer; for in solitude God speaks to man.

Wolf parasite: A Second Air That Kills
Canadian wolves were illegally introduced into the United States infected with a parasite that is lethal to humans.
Those parties responsible for this knew this parasite readily infects and kills humans. Federal and state agencies have known about this parasite for over 50 years and remained silent to the danger.
The Montana Constitution guarantees for the people the right to a healthy environment. This right has been blatantly ignored by federal and state agencies. It has become incumbent upon the citizens of the state of Montana to demand accountability from all governmental agencies for knowingly putting its citizen’s lives in imminent peril.
Vermiculite and asbestosis are two words that have brought tragedy into the lives of Lincoln county residents. It has proven to be an air that kills. With full knowledge of deadly consequences, federal and state agencies, along with a host of environmental groups, have brought a parasitic killer into our state; they have brought us all a second air that kills.

Anyone that is involved in dressing and processing of wild game to those that walk through infected grass or shrubs can bring the eggs back to their homes and families. Rancher Murdered in Arizona by Mexican Drug Gangs
Paul: I received this from a friend of mine in Southern NM. She received it from her friend in Douglas, AZ. I use to live in Douglas and know the area intimately. You might want to post this on your web site. With approx 460,000 illegal's in AZ that are going to be moving to other states , what with the new Arizona laws, and the drug gangs are already in most states and it says in this post, we may need the posse long before Nov. As you know, one of the local ranchers was murdered in Douglas two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages similar to the one below from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement.
Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people.
He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won't read in the papers.
The Border Patrol is afraid of starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico .
Bob Krentz was checking his water like he does every evening and came upon an illegal who was lying on the ground telling him he was sick. Bob called the Border Patrol and asked for a medical helicopter evac. As he turned to go back to his ATV he was shot in the side. The round came from down and angled up so they know the shooter was on the ground. Bob's firearm was in the ATV so he had no chance.
Wounded he called the Cochise County Sherriff and asked for help. Bleeding in the lungs he called
his brother but the line was bad so he called his wife but again the line was bad. Several ranchers heard the radio call and drove to his location. Bob was dead by this time. The ranchers tracked the shooter 8 miles back towards Mexico and cornered him in a brushy draw. This was all at night. The Sherriff and Border Patrol arrived and told them not to go down and engage the murderer. They went around to the back side and if you can believe it the assassin managed to get by a BP helicopter and a Sherriff's posse and back to Mexico . So much for professional help when you need it.
One week before the murder Bob and his brother Phil (who I shoot with) hauled a huge quantity of drugs off the ranch that they found in trucks.
One week before that a rancher near Naco did the same thing. Two nights later gangs broke into his ranch house and beat him and his wife and told them that if they touched any drugs they found they would come back and kill them. The ranchers here deal with cut fences and haul drug deliveries off their ranches all the time. What ranchers think is that the drug cartels beat the one rancher and shot Bob because they wanted to send a message. Bob always gave food and water to illegals and so they think they sent the assassin to pose as an illegal who was hungry and thirsty knowing it would catch Bob off guard.
What is going on down here is NOT being reported. You need to tell people how bad it is along the border. Texas is worse. Near El Paso it's in a state of war. 5000 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez last year and it's over 2000 so far this year. Gun sales down here are through the roof and I get emails from people wanting firearms training.
Something has to be done but I don't hold out much hope. These gangs have groups in almost every city in the US . This is serious business. The Barrio Azteca and their sub gangs are like Mexican Corporations and organized extremely well. If this doesn't get dealt with down here you guys will deal with it on your streets.

So this song is more about the freedom to find the truth. Only in America have men been free to find the truth while working out their salvation in peace and liberty. When men use liberty and freedom as a "cloak for malice" instead of a means to improve and to live a better and more moral life, then God must do something to correct His children. Like Saint Paul, who thought he was right to persecute God's Church, and when he was knocked from his saddle, and made blind, immediately became converted and said "Lord what would you have me do?" We should also realize that all of what is happening to our beloved country is happening because God wants us to wake up, and live rightly, and sanctify ourselves in the struggle for His truth. God is the author of freedom, as he is the author of original human nature itself. We suffer because of sin and we have an opportunity like the King of Nineve, to do pennance and turn away God's wrath from our Nation.
Perhaps by our lives we can prove to God that we are once again worthy of Freedom, and that we really will follow His Holy Will and be born again in His Spirit.
I don't know about you, but when I listened to the song above it brought all these things to my mind, and reminded me of my own shortcomings, and how I can live a better life and set a better example. I cried about that, and I don't cry about much. I hope this song gives you some hope, and insight into what all these trials are really about. They are about the salvation of souls eternally. They are about an opportunity to do pennance and turn away God's wrath from our nation, and about bringing us to eternal life.

According to a new Rasmussen poll, a 2012 presidential race between Republican Congressman Ron Paul and Barack Obama would end in a dead heat, with Obama favored by 42 percent of those polled and Paul by 41 percent. It was the biggest political news this month you probably didn't hear about.
Some dismissed this news as being significant only to the faithful followers of the outspoken, anti-government congressman, while ignoring the much larger revelation that if the election were held today, the "fringe" 2008 Republican primary candidate could feasibly become the next president.
The Drudge Report noted the significance of Paul's showing by running the headline "Shock Poll," but most mainstream cable and network news outlets, talk radio, and print media said little about it. However, plenty of coverage was given to Rasmussen's possible 2012 presidential matchups between Obama and Republicans like Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, both of whom scored about the same as Paul, with Palin doing slightly worse.

SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER PUBLISHES PATRIOT HIT LIST

In a report on its web site dated April 2010, entitled "Meet The Patriots," the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) profiled "36 individuals at the heart of the resurgent [patriot] movement." (In reading the list, I counted only 35 "patriots" and 5 "enablers" for a total of 40. I'm not really sure how the SPLC came up with "36." Perhaps their ability to count is commensurate with their ability to appreciate patriotism and liberty.) The SPLC (founded by Morris Dees) sees itself as America's guardian against "right wing militias" and loves to label conservatives and libertarians that it doesn't like as "extremists." The SPLC is one of the most ultra-liberal organizations in the country and should be dismissed as a group of paranoid leftists, not worthy of thought or mention.
The sad truth is, however, our federal government has chosen to exalt the SPLC to the position of being its "go to" source for information regarding "potential domestic terrorists" and similar characterizations. As a result, the information and reports disseminated by SPLC wind up in police reports and bulletins all over the United States. As an example, the SPLC had its fingerprints all over the infamous MIAC report. One could even question whether the SPLC is merely a front organization for Big Brother.
Therefore, it is highly likely that the report negatively profiling 40 American patriots will find its way into Department of Homeland Security (DHS) fusion centers and be distributed to police agencies all across the country. So, should the 40 people who find themselves targeted by SPLC expect some kind of government/police attention? Are we really that close to Nazi-style persecution in America? If the SPLC has its way, the answer seems to be a definite yes.

A good price for a 1 oz silver coin like an American Eagle or Canadian Maple Leaf is 12% over spot, and a good price for a 1 oz silver bar is 6% over spot.

This is still a major problem that will ultimately result in a major silver shortage and short squeeze, once a large number of COMEX holders begin to demand physical delivery of silver. If the silver market is controlled by JP Morgan and others, how does the little guy stand a chance of making money?
The manipulation by JP Morgan through naked short selling is providing an opportunity for normal everyday investors to purchase silver at dirt-cheap prices. Without JP Morgan's naked short selling, it's possible silver would already be well above $30 per ounce right now.
Remember, JP Morgan is not manipulating silver up, they are manipulating it down and the manipulation can't last forever. When investors around the globe call for physical delivery of their silver, there will be a shortage of physical silver and JP Morgan will be forced to cover their naked short position, causing silver prices to explode to the upside.

Ron Paul and Andrew Napolitano, along with Michele Bachmann and Glenn Beck, are anti-government patriot movement “enablers,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The SPLC insinuates that Paul and Napolitano are “enablers” for domestic terrorism.
“These men and women have helped to put key Patriot themes — the idea that President Obama is a Marxist, that he and other elites in the government are pushing a socialist takeover, that the United States plans secret concentration camps and so on — before millions of Americans, many of whom actually believe these completely false allegations,” declares the SPLC in a recent web posting. “Whether these people tell such tall tales because they believe them or simply because they are willing to shamelessly pander for votes or ratings, is anyone’s guess; but the noxious effect on the body politic is the same.”
More lies. In fact, Ron Paul has deemed Obama a corporatist, not a Marxist. During the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, Dr. Paul said: “The question has been raised about whether or not our president is a socialist. I am sure there are some people here who believe it. But in the technical sense, in the economic definition of a what a socialist is, no, he’s not a socialist…. He’s a corporatist. And unfortunately we have corporatists inside the Republican party and that means you take care of corporations and corporations take over and run the country.”
“Whether he’s advocating pulling out of the United Nations, trashing the Fed, or returning to the gold standard, Paul’s views have scored him plenty of points among the Patriot crowd,” writes the SPLC, and these mainstream Libertarian ideals “stoke fears of an overreaching government on the far right.”
The SPLC fear-mongering machine has long claimed the patriot movement is associated with white supremacists and militias and may engage in violence. In fact, there is plenty of evidence that the SPLC itself has “enabled” the miniscule and completely irrelevant white supremacist movement in order to magnify the ludicrous threat they claim these fringe groups pose.
In 2004, a declassified FBI memo obtained by an Oklahoma newspaper revealed that the SPLC had operatives inside the Identity settlement in Elohim City, Oklahoma. “References to an informant working for the SPLC at Elohim City on the eve of the Oklahoma City bombing raises serious questions as to what the SPLC might know about McVeigh’s activities during the final hours before the fuse was lit in Oklahoma City – but which the SPLC has failed to disclose publicly,” the Daily Gazette reported.
In order to defame Ron Paul and characterize him as a racist fellow traveler, the SPLC dredges up comments published in The Ron Paul Survival Report in 1996. “The quotations in The New Republic article [the neocon publication that attempted to discredit Paul with the accusation] are not mine and do not represent what I believe or have ever believed. I have never uttered such words and denounce such small-minded thoughts,” Paul said. “In fact, I have always agreed with Martin Luther King, Jr. that we should only be concerned with the content of a person’s character, not the color of their skin.”
“Paul claimed in 2001 that ghostwriters had penned the newsletters that bear his name but acknowledged he bore ’some moral responsibility,’” adds the SPLC in a crude attempt to make the controversy stick and portray Paul as a racist.
The SPLC has completely ignored Ron Paul’s denouncement of racism. “Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups,” he has said.
Former New Jersey judge Andrew Napolitano, according to the SPLC, “missed out on rubbing elbows with neo-Confederates, conspiracy theorists and antigovernment Patriot activists” when he failed to show as a keynote speaker in February at the first annual Tenth Amendment Summit in Atlanta. “It seems the TV judge is vying to become a fixture on the far-right lecture circuit” and his very presence of Fox weakens the network’s credibility, according to the SPLC.
For the SPLC, any defense of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights represents far-right kookiness. It is a bellwether of violence, racial hatred, and “antigovernment extremism.”
The SPLC characterizes Napolitano as a conspiracy nut for pointing out Obamacare contains death panels. In fact, the legislation does contain provisions for moving the elderly off the mortal coil, although it does not specifically mention death panels. In late March, the so-called economist Paul Krugman admitted Obamacare contains language providing for what amounts to death panels.
The SPLC slams Sarah Palin on her death panel comments but fails to put the remarks in a larger context. “Government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course,” Palin wrote on her Facebook page.
The SPLC is tasked with destroying the patriot movement by portraying it as a fringe phenomenon consisting of dangerous radicals and even psychopathic domestic terrorists who have supposedly teamed up with white supremacist militias and other violent miscreants. Of course, this is nothing more than propaganda, character assassination, slander, and defamation.
Both Ron Paul and Andrew Napolitano are dedicated constitutionalists who demand the federal government return to the principles of the founding document and stop imposing mandates on the states in violation of the Tenth Amendment and the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. They have consistently defended the Bill of Rights against the tyrannical actions of both the Republicans and Democrats.
The SPLC and its ideological twin, the Anti-Defamation League, are engaged in a desperate effort to silence the patriot movement through baseless and slanderous accusations. It will not work. Millions of Americans have arrived at the conclusion that the federal government is indeed an authoritarian leviathan. In response, increasing numbers support the Tea Party movement and other patriot groups.
