What Did They Do?

Yesterday, I posed a very important question to all of you --- where did the Tories, the British Sympathizers --- go? What happened to them after the Revolutionary War ended?

And for that matter, what happened to their Papist friends, who also opposed The War of Independence?

We should note that the British and the Papists both came here like everyone else, to colonize the New World, partially for the benefit of their respective King and/or Pontiff.

When the Brits came ashore in New England, they didn't cobble together their own personal flags and stab them in the ground and declare, "I claim this land in the name of Louis Furtwangler of Sussex!" And when the Papists came ashore in Maryland and Delaware, they didn't do anything like that, either. They staked out their claims in the name of their Pope and Church and its theocracy as their government.

It was, after all, all up for grabs, so far as the European Monarchs and the Popes saw it at the time. Whoever "discovered" it under The Doctrine of Discovery, was the rightful owner in their view, and though the Church finally corrected their error and renounced The Doctrine of Discovery, it was the basis of virtually all claims in the New World for decades.

So that is how the Brits and the Papists both came here and settled large parts of the Eastern Seaboard as loyal Subjects of the King and the Pope, respectively.

After The War of Independence, the well-being and future of both groups-- the Tories loyal to the King and the Papists loyal to the Pope -- were provided for as part of the peace settlement. Everyone would be allowed to keep their "personal" property -- their business interests, intact. Everyone could maintain their political allegiances, too.

Tories could choose to remain loyal Subjects of the King by adopting Territorial Citizenship as a U.S. Citizen.

Papists could choose to remain loyal Subjects of their Pontiff by adopting the status of Municipal "citizens of the United States".

Both these large and well-represented groups would be tolerated by the new American Government as foreign citizens called "inhabitants" and "residents" allowed to be here for the purpose of providing "essential government services" -----services that were firmly established and contractually agreed upon via the constitutions adopted in 1789 and 1790, respectively.

So, from the first, both the Tory Loyalists and the Papists, were protected, kept all their property assets except that their land was held under title as real estate and not really theirs, and a substantial portion of them were hired right off the bat to provide "essential government services" ---- which gave them a catbird seat position to mess with us.

Which they have done for over 200 years.

Most of them probably don't even remember why.

In answer to "what they did?" --- they became professional bureaucrats in charge of the various aspects of providing services to our fledgling government.

The Tories loyal to the King ensconced themselves in our port cities and got heavily involved in administering "customs houses", taxes, tariffs, trade agreements, and also administering the United States Navy on the High Seas and Navigable Inland Waterways, and all the Maritime and Admiralty Courts. Through their position as our Trustees on the High Seas and Navigable Inland Waterways, they also gained control of the US Marine Corps and overall influence over our military operations, services, and suppliers. Last but not least, they privately became dealers in arms, currencies, tobacco, alcohol and any other contraband "federally regulated" goods.

The Papists loyal to their Pontiff entrenched as what we know today as the Federal Civil Service, and began the build-up of the Agency System we know today as "the Alphabet Soups" --- which are all subcontractors of our Subcontractors, layered up so that the Papists don't have any work to do and no accountability, either. Think of Nancy Pelosi on her velvet tuffette.

So this is where they came from, this is where they went, and this is what they have done, and you can all now see how we have been infested with undeclared Foreign Agents since Day One.

"All enemies foreign and domestic...."

Most of these people think of themselves as Americans and consider themselves as loyal to this country as anyone else, but that ignores the entire history of these "federal" government organizations and their administration, which is still British and still Papist, respectively.

These two groups have fought each other from time to time, most particularly during the so-called American Civil War, but then as now, their "apparent" animosity is a facade. Both the British Territorial Government and the Municipal Government are ultimately owned and operated by the Pope.

The Pope directs the Queen, because she is his Commonwealth Overseer. And that is the position from which she derives her wealth and all her claims to own and control "real estate" belonging to her loyal Subjects.

And perhaps about now, you are all noticing that your lawful land patents have been quietly converted into "real estate" titles and municipal "land descriptions".

This has been presumed as part of the legal presumptions established against you and your Person, to the effect that you are a Federal Citizen, and not an American. You have been mistaken as both a Loyal Subject of HRM, and as a Municipal citizen of the United States, Subject to the Roman Pontiff.

As a result, all your assets including your Given Name have been seized upon, registered as property belonging to the Queen and the Pope, and you have been reduced to the level of a British Subject serving as an Indentured Servant of the Crown, and/or a willing Municipal slave, whose labor and all assets are thought to be donated to the Church.

This is what these people have done to themselves and to you, whether or not they know what they are doing.

There's just one problem for them, for their Queen, and for their Pontiff: what they've done here is massively and internationally criminal. They have enslaved and subourned and stolen the assets of the people and the States of this entire country via identity theft and personation schemes. They have colluded and conspired against and evaded their constitutional obligations. They have acted in Gross Breach of Trust and violation of their Commercial Service Contracts. They have violated the Geneva Conventions, the Hague Conventions, their own Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Nuremberg Code, hands down.

And they continue to do so, despite the fact that, as Americans, we are their Employers and we are owed every jot of the respective Constitutions, including their Good Faith Service.

We are now engaged in addressing these facts -- as Americans who have declared their birthright political status.

False Suppositions Waste Time

In the melee of waking up we are seeing a lot of Patriot Pundits springing up, having discovered one or another piece of the puzzle, and they then go running off at the mouth, convinced that they have the answers, when they are just chasing another round through well-known rabbit holes. 

The Act of 1871 (that was repealed in 1874) is one such Red Herring.  

In fact, it doesn't matter and it's none of our business how our Subcontractors organize their own internal business affairs.  If they want to operate as a sole proprietorship or as an incorporated S Corp or LLC, we could care less --- so long as they are not committing constructive fraud or evading their duties under their Constitution.  

As I said yesterday, the problem isn't that they chose to form incorporated business structures. The problem is what they did with those structures, how they deceptively named those structures, how they used those structures to promote credit fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and other crimes.  That's the rub. 

A similar misunderstanding arises from the Titles of Nobility Amendment (TONA) which was ratified and added to the American Federal Constitution in 1819.  That Constitution, which was designed to organize and define the duties of the States of America organization (also known as the Federal Republic) is called The Constitution for the united States of America.  

The only Constitutions we commonly see today are: (1) The Constitution of the United States of America and (2) The Constitution of the United States. 

This is because the States of America organization which ran the American portion of the Federal Government stopped functioning during the Civil War, and was never reconstructed afterward.  The Constitution for the united States of America was therefore no longer in use, and the Titles of Nobility Amendment was no longer seen to be part of this separate constitution. 

Knowing that TONA was ratified, and observing that it is not part of the Constitutions that are in use today, patriots have jumped to the conclusion that the Titles of Nobility Amendment was removed--- but this is not the case. 

TONA was never part of either The Constitution of the United States of America nor The Constitution of the United States.  It was and is part of a completely separate document --- The Constitution for the united States of America.  It pertains to a separate, different, and American-run Subcontractor that has been "pending" reconstruction since 1865. 

We already know this, so please, don't waste time or energy chasing false leads and red herrings. 

Spend your energy and time restoring and reconstructing the government you are actually owed, beginning with the reconstruction of our Confederation, and following with the reconstruction of the States of America organization which is supposed to be acting as our Federal Services Subcontractor under the direction of the Confederation and according to The Constitution for the united States of America.  

Please note that the Confederation was responsible for running the States of America (also known as the Federal Republic) under The Constitution for the united States of America, so the Confederation must be restored first. 

To restore the Confederation requires action by the Federation of States. 

So the actual States of the Union must be brought into Session and each such State must create its own State-of-State organization, which will then become a member of the Confederation. 

And the Confederation thus repopulated will resume the operations of the States of America under the original American Federal Constitution known as The Constitution for the united States of America.  

We have thoroughly researched this.  We know how it works, why it works, and how it used to work.  We know that the Union created the Federation and the Federation created the Confederation and the Confederation created the Federal Republic.  Water flows downhill.  

So we also know that in order to reconstruct the Federal Republic and to operate our fully functional and restored government requires bringing the actual State Assemblies into Session and requires individual action by the State Assemblies--- and there is no way around it.  No short-cuts available. 

Fortunately, lawful Assemblies of properly declared Americans have been assembled in each State, and those States formed during the Civil War and in the years afterward, have been formally Enrolled as States of the Union, so all fifty (50) States are now present, accounted for, and on equal footing.

In 2008, Dr. Anthony Fauci co-authored a paper about the Spanish Flu Epidemic that rates as the most devastating modern pandemic. It swept the entire planet in the wake of the First World War and caused millions of deaths.

So in studying this major and actual pandemic, what did Dr. Fauci and his colleagues find?

They discovered that most of the victims of the Spanish Flu didn't die from the Spanish Flu. They died from bacterial pneumonia. And the bacterial pneumonia was caused by.... wait for it, wait for it.... wearing masks.

The intention then, as now, was to halt the spread of the disease by wearing masks, but what actually happened was that an "unobserved" pandemic of bacterial pneumonia was unwittingly created instead.

And Dr. Anthony Fauci knows this, because he wrote about it in 2008.

Think about that the next time you see an overflowing garbage container filled with used masks --- or find a used mask jammed into your grocery cart or just lying like a dirty diaper in the middle of a parking lot.

A huge public health hazard and the threat of a non-viral pandemic of bacterial pneumonia is being fostered by the use of masks and Dr. Anthony Fauci knows it.

He has known that since at least 2008.

And yet, he sits there mum as a stump.

Ever heard of negligent homicide?

We need to put an end to this situation and an end to any authority vested in those private individuals promoting it. Now.

Where Did They Go?

Ever ask yourself what happened to the Tories?  You know, the British-Sympathizers who undermined the patriots?  

This is a very important question.  They didn't all disappear after the Revolution.  They didn't all migrate to Nova Scotia.  In fact, only a very few of them left this country.  So what do you suppose happened to them?  

They were allowed to stay as part of the peace settlement and to retain their "personal" property (business property interests).  They could even retain their allegiance to the King, if they accepted Territorial Citizenship as U.S. Citizens.

What happened to all the Papists who likewise didn't support the patriots during the War of Independence?   

They stayed here, too.  Only they became Municipal "citizens of the United States".  Decades later, they would side with the South in the Civil War and become liable to pay undisclosed War Reparations to the Territorial Government --- see Amendment 14 attached to the Corporate Constitution published in 1868. 

And stop fussing about the Act of 1871.  That is a Red Herring.  They were, as foreign subcontractors party to the Constitutions, free to organize their business as they saw fit -- so long as they did their duty and stood by their agreements. 

Think, people. 

Does it matter to you, if your Lawn Care Service is unincorporated or incorporated?  No. 

The harm that resulted from both the published Corporate Constitution and the Act of 1871 creating a Municipal Corporation for the District of Columbia is entirely in the way that these corporations were used to promote crime and evade constitutional obligations.  

In other words, it's not the fact that these organizations were structured as corporations that caused the problem.  Just as with guns, it was the men operating these corporations and using them to commit crimes and evade their constitutional obligations that were and are the problem.

More Tip of the Iceberg from Paul Turner

Many people are asking me -- what's going on with all these huge international law suits against the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health?  

Well, quite simply, the complaint against WHO is based on WHO selling bogus bonds and promoting a known scam to capitalize them, then using the proceeds as payola to guarantee that hospitals and governments would participate in the hoax in order to receive between $100,000 and $300,000 per "Covid 19" death.  This is otherwise called bond fraud and bribery, so they are being sued for damages.  The fact that WHO declared a "pandemic" based on 150 cases doesn't help. 

Falsifying medical records is a lesser offense that all the participants are guilty of to one extent or another--- and the proof that falsification has taken place is apparent from another fact: deaths attributed to plain old influenza have disappeared.  It's a miracle. Call the Holy See.  Here's a real opportunity for anyone wanting to claim sainthood.... 

The issues against the CDC and NIH are more about complicity in the fraud and non-disclosure of self-interest and hiding scientific data, such as the fact that the PCR test purportedly being used to test for Covid 19 was known to produce a very large percentage of false positive results and was never intended for use to screen for a virus.  The fact that millions upon millions of these PCR tests were ordered PRIOR to the release of the purported virus (I am not convinced that it even exists) for no known reason is also suspicious, don't ya think?  

The fact that no such virus as "Covid 19" has been isolated, and more damningly, no isolation protocol has even been started to identify any actual virus six months into the purported pandemic doesn't help. 

The fact that both the CDC and NIH are private organizations and both are involved in producing and selling vaccines for profit has been obscured, but there you are.  That puts a rather different spin on their pronouncements when they are urging the public to get vaccinated using their own vaccines.  

As you can see, it drops the whole level of the discussion from "scientific opinion" to snake oil sales, and is a fact that isn't being disclosed, leaving the public relying upon scientific integrity and logic that doesn't exist. 

With seven billion doses of vaccine and an undisclosed cost per dose on the table, you can see why.  Just sayin'. 

Grandma's Shinola Sensor went off back in March and hasn't quit going "Bwahh! Bwahh! Bwahh!" ever since. 

But don't rely on me as the only one smelling rats -- rely on the governments of Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, and read Paul's expose on WHO and their Pandemic Bonds --- and enjoy his Understatement of the Year entry at the very end:

Kickbacks 101

Kickbacks are money paid as "rewards" for doing or participating in something; they are what is called an "inducement" and an "unjust enrichment" by which people are paid to do things like sell out their country's best interests or engage in other kinds of criminal activities including fraud, misrepresentation, identity theft schemes, incorporation schemes, and worse. 

Most kinds of kickbacks are best considered bribes, commonly made to elected and appointed political officials and the organizations they run.  A few kinds of kickbacks are more subtle and involve things like access to natural resources, beneficial use contracts, or campaign or charitable contributions. Or the next leading role in a movie. 

Whatever form they take, kickbacks are illegal and unlawful inducement. 

Corrupt corporations commonly use kickbacks to get what they want. 

In the steamy sleazy world of organized crime, kickbacks are common as dirt. 

It's called "payola" and "grease" and "fat" --- but it all comes down to the same thing: money, access, advantages, and other "emoluments" paid out to individuals and organizations to get something illicit or improper in return, some kind of betrayal or sell-out or even just a quid pro quo to look the other way is usually involved. 

LBJ's use of Federal Block Grants to induce small overburdened impoverished counties to incorporate as "federated counties" is a grand example of kickbacks in action.  Many cities were impacted the same way -- Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston, Baltimore -- all took the bait.  

Eventually, this kickback system was used to create "Commonwealth" states in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, even though this country is not and never has been part of any commonwealth system of governance, the organizations providing "essential government services" in these States of the Union were paid off and began operating as commonwealths.  Even faced with this affront, the American People in those States slept on. 

So that's a Big Picture view of how corrupt government services corporations used kickbacks in the form of "Federal Block Grants" to seduce local government officials and to steal the assets and identities of whole counties and States of the Union, using simple kickbacks and legalese semantic deceits to defraud and misrepresent their actual Employers -- the States and the People. 

This of course only encouraged the growth and proliferation of criminality and Government Kickbacks worldwide.  Corporations like Exxon and Blackwater and JP Morgan saw their chance to "influence" political "options" via the relaxation of political campaign financing laws -- essentially kickbacks to politicians anxious to finance their next campaign, and in the case of Big Fish, to finance their own personal crime syndicates operated as foundations and family trusts. 

Fast forward fifty years and taking into consideration what I told you about the "Migration of the Parasites" to China as their next Host Country, you will be prepared to rightly interpret the headlines coming to you via Alt News sources, claiming that very highly placed members of the Chinese Communist Party not only bribed and bought Joe Biden, but then deliberately "compromised" his son, Hunter Biden, by videotaping Hunter engaged in perverse and violent sex acts with little girls. 

You have to understand that blackmail goes hand-in-hand with the kickback system.  The donors of big time payola (and the so-called China Deal was worth billions) want insurance to make sure that their "investment" pays off. So they demand that those in receipt agree to be videotaped doing hideous crimes, as an assurance that they will have long-term control of the asset they just bought.

So, the story goes, the Chinese compromised the Bidens as a proviso for paying them billions of dollars in payola.  But who compromised the Chinese? 

Who paid off Xi Jinping? 

You might off-the-cuff think --- who cares?  That's for the Chinese to find out and settle!  

But no, not really. It is our concern to find out who (or what) corrupted Xi Jinping, because this information will uncover the head of the serpent (or tapeworm, more like it) worming its way to a new home in China. 

This outrage and affront to both China and The United States of America was undertaken by corporate bosses and corrupted elected officials. It was part of the pre-planned move of the parasites to China. Big Payola was involved on both sides of the Pacific. 

And we find a blackmail scenario identical to what we know was going on via Jeffrey Epstein's Lolita Express--- a weird pay for play in which people seeking kickbacks or being seduced by them, were deliberately and methodically compromised--- apparently for payola insurance purposes, by being videotaped while doing horrific things to little kids. 

Payola doesn't have to be money.  It can be investment capital.  It can be the lead role in the next Hollywood blockbuster.  It can be a political office.  It can be a mining contract.  A patent.  A campaign contribution.  It can be whatever your dreams are made of.  And the price?  Incriminate yourself.  Do a hideous crime in front of the camera as your guarantee to deliver whatever goods you sold your soul for. 

It appears likely that those parties behind the Epstein Island operation were the same parties behind the China franchise: looks like the same duck, walks like the same duck, quacks like the same duck.... I think it's the same duck, the same criminal enterprise using the same methods to achieve its ends. 

And you don't have to look very far to find other examples of massive Payola being used to promote crime.  How about the World Bank's so-called "Pandemic Bonds" for a starter?  

They sold investors bonds betting against a world pandemic, and then ginned one up out of thin air, and used the proceeds to pay off State of State governments and poor Third World governments to play along. The Pandemic Bonds were used to fund the payola to the tune of $500 million. 

The Players who were rewarded for playing along with the scam got between $100,000 and $300,000 per "Covid 19 death".  No wonder that deaths from plain old influenza, which used to account for between 65,000 and 150,000 deaths each flu season, have decreased to zero in this country.  I expect that deaths due to influenza have likewise disappeared on a planet-wide basis, and will continue to be mysteriously absent until the $500 million and similar payola provided by the CARES Act also disappears. 

Meantime, this bogus "threat" has cost the world economy billions of dollars, undermined the health and well-being of billions of people, and set up an even bigger scam: an attempt to change living people into GMO patented "products" by vaccinating the victims with patented RNA.  

This grotesque immoral enslavement scheme has been the actual object of the whole Pandemic Hoax, which has merely served as the "set up" for the attempt to claim ownership of the population of this planet via pollution of our natural genome with patented RNA injected as a "vaccine".  

All those responsible, from whatever country, have perpetuated the most venal crime spree in history.  Whatever they were paid to do this pales by any comparison with the harm they have caused and which they have proposed to cause in addition to their obstruction of trade, manipulation of world currency, and actual (as opposed to imaginary) public health threats. 

Some of the masterminds responsible are self-evident.  Bill Gates, George Soros, Anthony Fauci, the CDC, NIH, WHO, the bond brokers for the World Bank, who have all been engaged in promoting the fraud and profiting from it, but there are more hands in the pie and more pigs at the trough on a worldwide basis.  

Including some dead Chinese generals and others who have betrayed their countries for the sake of I.O.U.s.  

This has not happened all of a sudden.  It has been planned since 1984, published since 2003, ramped up in 2013, and deliberately unleashed in China in 2020---- so as to give us all the impression that China caused the problem, when China was, most likely, the victim---- both at the hands of Xi Jinping and British banking interests, and in the same way that we have been victims at the hands of corrupt US politicians and global banking interests. 

To the members of our own military who have been involved in these and other boondoggles --- remember your oaths.  You have a clear and present danger and it is domestic with respect to you and yours.  

This threat has come in the form of corrupt and corrupting politicians and political parties, in the form of a compromised intelligence community, in the form of a compromised scientific community, in the form of a compromised communications industry, and in the misuse and abuse of corporate power and law, all salted down with a lot of kickbacks. 

Come home, and do what should have been done in 1865.  Help your actual employers complete the Reconstruction and restore the fully operational government this country is owed.  

And as for the reprobates who have operated this system and thought that we were all asleep or too stupid to see what was going on, remember this: 

Matthew 18:6 - But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

It is a political status, honor, and protection that you are owed as a result of being born in one of our States or having parents born in one of our States.  Period. 

You are not obligated to claim it and it is not automatically conferred upon you. 

You may freely choose to leave our jurisdiction at any time, but if you do so, you will become "stateless" and prey to both the Territorial and Municipal Government corporations.

 

You will lose access to the Constitutional Guarantees.  You will be subject to foreign laws and foreign taxation. 

People often ask me, why should I go through the effort to declare my political status as an American?  Isn't it obvious that I am an American? I'm standing here, aren't I?  I was born here, wasn't I?  

The fact is, that no, your political status is not obvious.  In fact, it has been obscured and false presumptions have been made about your political status to the effect that you are a British Territorial U.S. Citizen or a Municipal citizen of the United States -- both.  

Which means that you are not considered to be an American until you claim and declare your proper birthright political status. 

As an American there are two (2) possible status choices.  As an American State National (a Texan, Wisconsinite, New Yorker, etc.) you have no obligation to the government beyond keeping the peace -- which means not injuring other people or their property.  As a State Citizen you take on the decision-making and other burdens of self-governance and are expected to attend Assembly meetings, cast ballots in elections, serve on the juries, and staff the militia. 

None of this is rocket science.  

As a government of free people we cannot "require" you to serve the government, neither can we dictate your choices of political allegiance, nor impose obligations upon you.  

You are free to reclaim your birthright political status, free to join your State Assembly --- and also free to leave, even after you have gone through the trouble to join. 

At the same time, wishy-washy gets you nowhere. 

If you don't declare, or do and join and then decide to leave, you will become stateless, and this will mean that you can be swooped down upon by agents of either the Territorial or Municipal government and "taken aboard" as chattel backing their corporation debts.  You and all your assets will be claimed by them.  You will lose your constitutional guarantees and you will become subject to their foreign laws and their foreign taxation schemes. 

You will, in short, revert to the same condition that you were in before, and in the event that these foreign corporations overcome our objections and get a civil war started on our shores, you will have no protections and will be considered "fair game" for either side to shoot, arrest, detain, incarcerate, vaccinate, or do any other thing they wish to do to you. As a non-declared "person" you have no constitutional guarantees. 

We continue to hold the door open for you to escape from any such eventuality and to take charge of your lawful government as a participant in it, but if you miss the boat or decide to leave once you have been rescued --- that's your problem and a result of decisions you have made.

The Church's Year

The Introit of the Mass is an humble prayer, by which we acknowledge that we are punished for our disobedience:

INTROIT All that thou hast done to us, O. Lord, thou hast done in true, judgment: because we have sinned against thee, and have not obeyed thy commandments: but give glory to thy name, and deal with us according to the multitude of thy mercy. (Dan. III. 28.) Blessed are the undefiled in the way: who walk in the law of the Lord. (Fs. CXVIII.). Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

COLLECT Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord, in Thy mercy to Thy faithful pardon and peace; that they may both be cleansed from all their offences, and serve Thee with a quiet mind. Through our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the Unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end, Amen.

EPISTLE (Ephes. V. 15-21.) Brethren, See how you walk circumspectly, not as unwise, but as wise redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore, become not unwise, but understanding what is the will of God. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury: but be ye filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord: giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God and the Father; being subject one to another in the fear of Christ.

How may we redeem time?

By employing every moment to gain eternal goods, even should we lose temporal advantages thereby; by letting no opportunity pass without endeavoring to do good, to labor and, suffer for love of God, to improve our lives, and increase in, virtue.

Do you wish to know, says the pious Cornelius á Lapide, how precious time is: Ask the damned, for these know it from experience. Come, rich man, from the abyss of hell, tell us what you would give for one year, one day, one hour of time! I would, he says, give a whole world, all pleasures, all treasures, and bear all torments. O, if only one moment were granted me to have contrition for my sins, to obtain forgiveness of my crimes, I would purchase this moment with every labor, with any penance, with all punishments, torments and tortures which men ever suffered in purgatory or in hell, even if they lasted hundreds, yes, thousands of millions of years! O precious moment upon which all eternity depends! O, how many moments did you, my dear Christian, neglect, in which you could have served God, could have done good for love of Him, and gained eternal happiness by them, and you have lost these precious moments. Remember, with one moment of time, if you employ it well, you can purchase eternal happiness, but with all eternity you cannot purchase one moment of time!

ASPIRATION Most bountiful God and Lord! I am heartily sorry, that I have so carelessly employed the time which Thou hast given me for my salvation. In order to supply what I have neglected, as far as I am able, I offer to Thee all that I have done or suffered from the first use of my reason, as if I had really to do and suffer it still; and I offer it in union with all the works and sufferings of our Saviour, and beg fervently, that Thou wilt supply, through His infinite merits, my defects, and be pleased with all my actions and sufferings.

Be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury!

[On the vice of drunkenness see the third Sunday after Pentecost Here we will speak only of those who make others drunk by encouragement.] The Persian King Assuerus expressly forbade that any one should be urged to drink at his great banquet. (Esth. I. 8.) This heathen who knew from the light of reason, that it is immoral to lead others to intemperance, will one day rise in judgment against those Christians who, enlightened by the light of faith, would not recognize and avoid this vice. Therefore the Prophet Isaias (V. 22.) pronounces woe to those who are mighty in drinking and know how to intoxicate others; and St. Augustine admonishes us, by no means to consider those as friends, who by their fellowship in drinking would make us enemies of God.

GOSPEL (John IV. 46-53.) At that time, There was a certain ruler whose son was sick at Capharnaum. He having heard that Jesus was come from Judea into Galilee, went to him, and prayed him to come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. Jesus therefore said to him: Unless you see signs and wonders, you believe not. The ruler said to him: Lord, come down before my son die. Jesus saith to him: Go thy way, thy son liveth. The man believed the word which Jesus said to him, and went his way. And as he was going down, his servants met him, and they brought word, saying that his son lived. He asked therefore of them the hour wherein he grew better. And they said to him: Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. The father therefore, knew that it was at the same hour that Jesus said to him: Thy son liveth: and himself believed. and his whole house.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

I. God permitted the son of the ruler to become sick that he might ask Christ for the health of his son, and thus obtain true faith and eternal happiness. In like manner, God generally seeks to lead sinners to Himself, inasmuch as He brings manifold evils and misfortunes either upon the sinner himself or on his children, property, etc. Hence David said: It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications, (Ps. CXVIII. 71.) and therefore he also asked God to fill the faces of sinners with shame, that they should seek His name. (Ps. LXXXII. 17.) This happened to those of whom David says: Their infirmities were multiplied: afterwards they hastened in returning to God. (Ps. XV. 4.) O would we only do the same! When God sends us failure of crops, inundations, hail-storms, dearth, war, etc., He wishes nothing else than that we abandon sin and return to Him. But what do we? Instead of hastening to God, we take refuge in superstition, or we murmur against Him, find fault with or even blaspheme His sacred regulations; instead of removing our sins by sincere penance, we continually commit new ones, by murmuring and impatience, by hatred and enmity, by rash judgments, as if the injustice and malice of others were the cause of our misfortune. What will become of us if neither the benefits nor the punishments of God make us better?

II. Christ said to this ruler: Unless you see signs and wonders, you believe not. This was a reprimand for his imperfect faith; for if he. had truly believed Christ to be the Son of God, he would not have asked Him to come to his house, but, like the centurion, would have believed Him able, though absent, to heal His son. (Matt. VIII.) Many Christians deserve the same rebuke from Christ, because they lose nearly all faith and confidence in God, when He does not immediately help them in their troubles, as they wish. He proves to us how displeasing such a want of confidence is to Him by withdrawing His assistance and protection from the fickle and distrustful. (Ecclus. II. 15.)

II. How much may not the example of the father of a family accomplish! This ruler had no sooner received the faith, than his whole household was converted and believed in Christ. Fathers and mothers by their good example, by their piety, frequent reception of the Sacraments, by their meekness, temperance, modesty and other virtues, may accomplish incalculable good among their children and domestics.

CONSOLATION IN SICKNESS

There was a certain ruler whose son was sick. (John IV. 16.)

As a consolation in sickness, you should consider that God sends you this affliction for the welfare of' your soul, that you may know your sins; or if you be innocent, to practice patience, humility, charity, etc., and increase your merits. Therefore a holy father said to one of his companions, who complained, because he was sick: "My son! if you are gold, then you will be proved by sickness, but if you are mixed with dross, then you will be purified." "Many are vicious in health," says St. Augustine, "who would be virtuous in sickness;" and St. Bernard says: "It is better to arrive at salvation through sickness, than to have health and be damned."

It is also a powerful means of consolation in sickness, to represent to ourselves the suffering Redeemer, who had no soundness from the top of His head to the sole of His foot, and contemplating whom St. Bonaventure used to cry out: "O Lord, I do not wish to live without sickness, since I see Thee wounded so much."

When sick, we should carefully examine, whether we possess any ill-gotten goods, or have any other secret sin on our conscience; and if we are conscious of any, we should quickly free ourselves from it by a contrite, sincere confession, and by restoring the things belonging to others. Sins are very often the cause of disease, and God does not bless the medicine unless the sickness effects its object, that is, the sinners amendment. Still less can we expect help, but rather temporal and eternal misfortune, if we have recourse to superstition, and spells, as the King Ochozias experienced, who was punished with death, because in sickness he had recourse to the idol Beelzebub. (IV Kings I.)

PRAYER O Jesus, Thou true physician of souls, who dost wound and heal us, yea, dost even permit sorrows and adversities to visit us that our souls may have health, grant us the grace to use every bodily pain according to Thy merciful designs for the promotion of our salvation.

INSTRUCTION ON CARE OF THE SICK

Come down before my son die. (John IV. 49.)

All who have the charge of sick persons, should be like this father, that is, they should first of all endeavor to call upon Jesus to come in the most holy Sacrament, before the sick person is unable to receive Him. The devil seeks to hinder nothing more than this. He excites the imagination of the sick person, making him believe that he can live longer, that he will certainly get well again, in order to ruin him easier afterwards, because he defers his conversion. Those contribute to this end who through fear of frightening the sick person or of annoying him, fail to call the priest at the right time. This is cruel love, which deprives the sick person of the salvation of his soul and eternal happiness, and brings with it a terrible responsibility. Where there is question of eternity, no carefulness can be too great. We should, therefore, choose the safest side, because the suffering may easily increase and finally make the sick person unable to attend to the affairs of his soul. We should, therefore, not conceal from him the danger in which he is, and if he has still the use of his reason, should call in the priest that he may receive the Last Sacraments. He will not die sooner on that account, but rather derive the greatest benefit therefrom, since his conscience will be cleansed from sin, which may be the cause of his sickness, and perhaps, he may regain his health, or at least be strengthened by the newly received grace of God, to bear his pains with greater patience and to die far easier, securer, and more consoled. We should also endeavor to encourage the sick person to resignation, and a childlike confidence in God, should pray with him to strengthen him against desponding thoughts, and the temptations of the devil; we should present him a crucifix to kiss; repeat the holy names of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, and other consolatory ejaculations, such as are found in prayer-books; should sign him with the sign of the cross; sprinkle him with holy water, and above all pray for a happy death. We should not weep and lament, by which death is only made harder for him, nor should we hold useless, idle and worldly conversations with him which will prevent him from thinking of God amid the salvation of his soul, and from preparing himself for the last dangerous struggle. Finally, we should by no means suffer in his presence persons who have given him occasions of committing sin, because they would be obstacles to his sincere conversion.

There is truly no greater work of charity than to assist our neighbor to a happy death.
