The Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Without devotion to and help from the Mother of God, our country is doomed to degenerate into communism and slavery!

Some may scoff at this statement, but when you find out who Mary really is you might change your mind.

Today the Church applies this Lesson from Ecclesiaticus 24, 23 -31 to The Blessed Virgin Mary.

"As the vine I have brought forth a pleasant odour: and my flowers are the fruit of honour and riches. I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope In me is all grace of the way and of the truth, in me is all hope of life and of virtue Come over to me, all you that desire me, and be filled with my fruits.  For my spirit is sweet above honey, and my inheritance above honey and the honeycomb.  My memory is unto everlasting generations They that eat me, shall yet hunger: and they that drink me, shall yet thirst.  He that hearkens to me, shall not be confounded: and they that work by me, shall not sin They that explain me shall have life everlasting."

And here is the explanation of how Mary can be truly the Mother of God.

Oct. 11th The Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

In the first ages of the Church the day sacred to our Blessed lady, under her great title of Mother of God, was January 1. Evident traces of this devotion remain in the liturgy proper to the feast of the Circumcision, which is now kept on that day. Many churches having petitioned for a special festival in honor of Our Lady's divine maternity, a day, usually in the month of October, was granted by the Holy See for its celebration. By a decree of the Sacred Congregation of Rites, April 24, 1914, the eleventh of October was assigned. Pius IX raised it to a double of the second class and extended it to the Universal Church.

All Catholics believe that Mary is the Mother of God. This does not mean that she is not a creature of God, nor that God did not exist before she was created. It means that He who was her Son was a Divine Person.. In Christ there are two natures: the nature of God and the nature of man; but in Him there is only one Person, a Divine Person, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Hence all that may be predicated of either nature may with propriety be said of the Savior in the concrete form, without distinguishing the two natures. So we may say that God was born of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We then refer to the Person of the Son of God, Who is both God and Man. Christ, Who is God, was born according to His human nature of the Blessed Virgin. She is, therefore, truly the Mother of God.

And we pray in the "Hail Mary"   "Holy Mary Mother of God"  or in Latin "Sancta Maria, Mater Dei".
These prayers have been recited in the Holy Rosary for many centuries. For more information about how to pray these ancient and very powerful prayers follow this link.

Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

or in Latin:
Áve María, grátia pléna, Dóminus técum. Benedícta tu in muliéribus, et benedíctus frúctus véntris túi, Iésus.
Sáncta María, Máter Déi, óra pro nóbis peccatóribus, nunc et in hóra mórtis nóstrae. Ámen.

If you don't think our Lady is powerful to fulfill prayers for peace and for our country you need to read the account of what happened in Fatima in Portugal in 1917. Remember that was the year that communism started in Russia with the Bolshevik revolution.

The miracle of the sun at that location on October 13, 1917 was witnessed by over 70,000 people, many of whom were NOT Catholic, and many of whom were skeptics before the miracle but who all confirmed the miracle. See pictures at the link above.

Thus the Miracle of the Sun, witnessed by 70,000 people, concluded the cycle of the apparitions at Fatima. Yet the Message of Fatima, with its great depth and scope, was to continue to be unfolded to the eldest of the three seers, Lucy. In the years to come Heaven’s Messenger would be visited and, as promised by Our Lady in the July 13 apparition, would be instructed to reveal Heaven’s plan for peace for a turbulent world: the Reparatory devotion of the Five First Saturdays and the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

My conclusion is that regardless of who gets elected, this nation can NOT survive without the help of the Mother of God, and it's up to us to beg for her intercession and aid.
