A law school professor and former criminal defense attorney tells you why you should never agree to be interviewed by the police. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc
There are 3 things to remember when Police ask you something: 1. shut up 2. don't say anything 3. be quiet You can get them out of order and still do ok. In the vidoe they talk of 5th Ammendant rights. Once you take the 5th you have to stay with it. So you take the 5th. Then 30 minutes later the attorney asks you if you have to go to the bathroom? You're stuck with staying with the 5th...and will look foolish taking the 5th about needing to use the bathroom! Instead of the 5th, ther are 3 things you can do for a reply ('answer' means to an-swear, so reply, don't 'answer'): 1. I don't know 2. I don't recall 3. I can't remember There are no penalties for thses 3. Be careful out there, for the court room is the battlefield and your attorney/lawyer has as his 1st duty, to the court, then you come along somewhere down list later on!
